Some ‘Itches Scratched’.

SLEEPING WITH PATTI!

(I knew Patti would chortle at reading this! BUT it is true!) 

As you all would imagine .. living outside of the country for almost four months one ‘misses’ certain other things.

RED MEAT!

I do NOT eat much RED MEAT even when I am home BUT .. after four months without so much as a ‘taste’ of RED MEAT .. I get ‘hungry’ for it.

Yesterday .. as I have already written several times .. without stopping anywhere after I landed in Anchorage and picked up my baggage and was met by Patti .. Patti and I went directly to one of our favorite ‘steak houses’ .. ‘The Cattle Company’.  We two ‘split’ a small .. 8 ounce steak.

Today .. Patti and I went to a restaurant named ‘Pipers’.. out by Anchorage International Airport .. and .. I ate an 8 ounce patty of top grade ground beef.

Both of these RED MEAT meals tasted very good to me!  Both were VERY GOOD.

CAESAR SALADS!

Yesterday .. at ‘The Cattle Company’ and today at ‘Pipers’ .. we also ate CAESAR SALADS.  We ate two (2) Caesar Salads each day.

POPCORN!

Today I enjoyed-my-way through a large bowl of Orville Redenbacher’s Gourmet Popcorn.

TUNA FISH SALAD!

Canned tuna fish mixed with Costco’s Four Bean Salad and Sauerkraut are a staple of my eating plan here in the U.S. and one I SORELY missed during the past four months.

COSTCO KIRKLAND BRAND Chocolate Weight Loss Shakes.  I mix one 11 oz can of this with two quarts of water and gulp down a lot of LIQUID.  When home I drink quantum quantities of liquid. I also drink Gatorade mixed with water.

A QUALITY BED!

You have seen over the past four months the many times that I ‘doubled up’ the thin mattresses they tend to have in India. OH YES I did have some good mattresses overseas .. but in general .. they are not the nice thick high quality mattresses we have here in the U.S.

A CLOTHES WASHER / DRYER!

What a luxury these simple two things are!

MY WATERPIK DENTAL IRRIGATOR!

Oh how I missed being able to rinse between-my-teeth with a jet of pressurized water.

TELEVISION SPORTS PLAYOFF GAMES!

Ice Hockey and Pro Basketball (The NBA) games.

TWO HOUR PHONE CALLS with Grosser Behr and Kleiner Behr.  Some of you know Grosser Behr as our-man ‘Zilla!

50 F (10 C) TEMPERATURES!

Jeevan Lal told me it is 48 C (118 F) in Agra Cantt now. I live in Alaska because I can DRESS for the cold and NOT for heat.

AH YES.  I just ‘made-something out of nothing.’
