NOV 28, 23 .. OH.. MY.. GOODNESS.. BELLS, WHISTLES, SIRENS, BRIGHT LIGHTS FLASHING..

Monday Afternoon, 2:45pm, November the 27th.

All of the above (BELLS, WHISTLES, SIRENS, BRIGHT LIGHTS FLASHING) happened “Just when I thought I knew something about Slot Machines”!

Snob : A person who has extremely high standards and who is not satisfied by the things that ordinary people like.

I have not considered myself as any kind of a “Snob” but today this may have changed.

The only “Snob Categories” that I personally think about (Yes indeed! They are Google Classifications) are the two below categories..

“Wine Snobs” are people who respect and like only people who are of a high social class. A Wine Snob is a special breed of wine-lover who feels the need to proclaim their superior knowledge to anyone within earshot. These are folks who are incapable of getting a casual glass of wine at a bar. They’ll never relinquish the wine list to anyone. They pick bottles according to vintage, rather than taste.

“Tea Snobs” are people who make judgements about a tea based on its origin, leaf size and processing method (you must begin with cold water etc). Tea lovers on the other hand know that what really matters is how the tea tastes in the cup.

Of course if I work at it, and I am NOT going to do so, I could come up with other “Snob Categories”.

However, perhaps to some extent, I have been a “Slot Machine Snob”.

Oh Captain, why do you think that maybe you have been a “Slot Machine Snob”?

Because, up until this afternoon, I have always played one dollar ($1) minimum bet Slot Machines. I have “looked down” upon anyone who plays “Penny Slot Machines”. I would comment, “Play for pennies’ You win pennies! Play for dollars. You win dollars!”

Here We Go Loop De Loop. Here We Go Loop De Li.

Meet Eddie, one of our closest neighbors here at our apartment.

Eddie is a really special person. Back on September the 11th, 2001, aka 911, Eddie was at Ground Zero in New York City attempting to assist in any way he was able.

As sweet as Eddie is, you would not want to “Mess Around” with Eddie!

Winter, Summer, Spring and Fall, three days a week, Eddie gets onto our Lake Havasu City Ferry Boat..

And crosses Lake Havasu..

To visit the Havasu Landing Resort Casino.

The Stage is set.

We get off the Ferry.  Into The Casino we go. Eddie stresses that I need a Casino Players Card and I get one.

Eddie and I sit down at a pair of Slot Machines.

Below is my Slot Machine!

Oh My Goodness!

Eddie plays the “Penny Slot Machines”!

The ones that I “Look Down Upon”.. Play for Pennies. Win Pennies.

I.. Did.. Not.. Say.. To.. Eddie.. “Play for Pennies. Win Pennies”.

Then Eddie explained to me that on the Penny Slot Machines, you can play for one (1¢) penny all the way up to five ($5) dollars per spin. You used to pull a handle to play. Now some machines have both a button to press and a handle to pull. I opt to pull a handle when a slot has one.

I opted to play for fifty (50¢) cents per play.

I began with $20. I had a hit here and a hit there and was sitting at $8.64 remaining from my $20. In other words I had lost $11.36.

In the above photo, at the bottom of the Slot Machine, you can clearly see your CASH, BET and WIN values.

I pressed the Play Button and..

BELLS, WHISTLES, SIRENS, AND BRIGHT LIGHTS BEGAN FLASHING!

My cash increased to $15.71 from $8.64 and my winnings were $9.07 up from $0.

And it kept going! My cash increased to $17.23 and my winnings became $10.58.

The BELLS, WHISTLES, SIRENS, AND BRIGHT LIGHTS CONTINUED FLASHING!

My cash increased to $19.18 and my winnings became $12.53.

My cash increased to $29.04 and my winnings became $22.40.

The BELLS, WHISTLES, SIRENS, AND BRIGHT LIGHTS CONTINUED FLASHING!

Some interested “Bystanders” wandered over to see the fun.

My cash increased to $31.52 and my winnings became $24.88.

My cash increased to $33.33 and my winnings became $26.69.

The BELLS, WHISTLES, SIRENS, AND BRIGHT LIGHTS CONTINUED FLASHING!

My cash increased to $41.59 from $8.64 and my winnings became $34.95.

The BELLS, WHISTLES, SIRENS, AND BRIGHT LIGHTS STOPPED!

Eddie said, “Cap, cash out!” So I did!

There is a saying : Be Thankful You Had The Moment!

People play the Slot Machines for a lifetime and never hit a significant payout!

I will very happily accept This Moment.

Thanks for sharing it with me.

Cap and Patti who unfortunately was not feeling well and missed the grand scene above.

Thanks again Eddie!

No! You don’t want to “Mess With Eddie”.
