Let’s begin with.

Sunday, December the 3rd, 2023.

I was up early. Attended the Sunday Morning meeting at 10am. After the meeting, I worked with a fellow member until 2pm.

Below is the High Point of our Sunday, December the 3rd.

At 3pm, Patti and I attended the Traditional Christmas Concert of the Lake Havasu Community Choir.

It was really (as in REALLY) an extremely enjoyable two hours.

Yes! Oh Yes!

Patti and I are still rabid NFL football fans BUT we are “picking and choosing” the games we are able watch. 

We have no choice as to what games we get on T.V. because we do not have a membership in one of the premium streaming plans.

Unless we are really interested in a game, we don’t turn on our T.V. to just idly sit and watch a game that is meaningless to us!

Patti and I got home from the above Concert in time to see the last three and one-half minutes of the 3rd Quarter and all of the 4th Quarter of an important game between “Our” visiting San Francisco 49ers and the home town Philadelphia Eagles.

Playoff games begin January 13th, 2024. Both the Eagles (10-2) and the 49ers (9-3), along with the Dallas Cowboys (9-3) and “Our” Detroit Lions (9-3) all are vying for the number one seed in the NFL’s National Football Conference.  

Today’s game was a winner for “Our” 49ers!

Brock Purdy, the 49ers Quarterback, had a great game along with his team mates!

This is one of the few times this season that we have gotten into the details of an NFL game here on dotnet.

Monday the 4th of December aka Today

This afternoon, Eddie our great neighbor..

Along with Patti and me, are going to revisit the.. 

Yes Oh Yes! Patti and I will play “Our Girl” Wonder Woman, the Slot Machine that made me a winner a week ago last Monday the 27th of November.

After coming home a “Winner” last week, we are playing with “House Money”!

We will give “Our Girl” another “Whirl”. Play $20 and see what we end up with.

    Oh Cap, yesterday as I was watching the very exciting game (except for the first quarter), I looked at my clock, saw it was 3 PM and assumed you were at the event. I forgot you are on MST while I am on PST so you were in fact seeing all the exciting parts. The first quarter was sad for 49er fans as the Eagles really dominated, having the ball 13 minutes to our 2 minutes, 25 plays to our 6 plays. They were having issues with crowd noise; the team couldn’t hear the play calling. Thankfully, the Eagles were only able to get 2 field goals. The 49ers figured out how to handle the noise (silent, movement based calls interspersed with verbal calls.) That started a true nailbiter game. And of course, many of us remember the last time we played the Eagles where they severely injured Brock, and then took out the back up QB leaving us with some poor soul to call the plays with zero chance of a passing game. It is a very ugly memory. The 49ers definitely played in the moment and kept that out of the game. Not gonna lie, I was kind of concerned about losing to the Eagles because they have been dominating both NFC and AFC. They are good at winning even when trailing at half time. It was an exciting game.

    Oh, the joy and gifts of working with newcomers, and others. God Bless you Cap. When you informed me that you were going to breakfast with another I sort of/kinda knew you were doing service and carrying the message. You’ve been an inspiration to me to watch as you interact with folks from all ages, all sizes and ethnicity. And I had a late lunch date with my friend Samara to head over across the lake and dine in their new restaurant. And it was an elegant day. Lo and behold, you’ve seen it before us, evidently as your blog states you will be playing on the winnings of your recent visit over there. Good luck. We didn’t put a plug nickel (quarter or dollar) into any one-armed bandits. This time! lol
    I’m so happy to hear both of you are melding into our community life and already soaking up more culture than I’ve done in my 10yrs here! A Christmas play always keys us into the flavors of what holiday seasons are meant to be. Good for both of you! I would suggest you and Patti drive the Suburban down to the parking lot just above where the ferry docks, at night, to witness the beautiful, multi-colored LED lighting on the London Bridge at night. It’s fabulous!

We have been advised that we need to be down there about 12 noon if we want to get a place to witness or view the Christmas Boat Parade up Bridgewater Channel this upcoming Saturday night at 7pm.       Sorry Gullilble to be the proverbial “Day Late And A Dollar Short” but to have a Post up early in the morning means I MUST write it the night before. Last night I was beyond toast as to being dead on my feet exhausted. So unable to even think straight, I went to bed before I fell down and hurt myself and wrote DEC 5, 23 this morning. Smiles ..
