JAN 20, 24 (1/2) .. THE HAVASU BALLOON FEST ROCKS ON..

I’m writing these two Posts on Friday evening the 19th. You will be reading them Saturday the 20th.

Then again, today’s newspaper is all about yesterday, not all about events today that have not yet transpired.

So first I will leap ahead from Friday evening to tomorrow.

Saturday the 20th of January 2024.

Today Patti and I will be up and out of our apartment around 7:30am because I have a volunteer commitment to assist with the 5K walking / 10K jogging event. Along with other Havasu Balloon Fest volunteers, we will provide water at the 1/2 way point of the 5K walking / 10K running event. It will wrap up / conclude around 10am. Then Patti and I will check out what is going on at the overall Balloon Fest.

Then we plan to watch two NFL Football Playoff games. The Houston Texans play the Baltimore Ravens at (our time) 2:30pm. The Green Bay Packers will play the San Francisco 49ers at 6:15pm (our time). 

Now we will wait and see what really happens tomorrow on Saturday.

Friday the 19th of January 2024.

Today I was up and out at 8am to watch the 8:15am Balloon Mass Ascension. Then at 4:15pm we two watched the afternoon Balloon Mass Ascension.  

A few photos.

Yesterday I showed several photos that I snapped Thursday of the KOA Hot Air Balloon.

Friday we saw it go up, up, up and away into flight.

There’s the KOA Balloon in the far distance on the right side of the below photo.

So I immediately repositioned myself to get some clear photos of it.

And off into the distance it floated, carried by a very gentle 2 mph wind.

What on earth is all of that “stuff” in the above photo?

The Havasu Balloon Festival and Fair is a lot more than a few Hot Air Balloons flying away up into the sky.
