SURVIVOR SEASON 46

Today, Wednesday the 28th of February, the first episode of Survivor Season 46 “will air” on CBS Television.

Without host Jeff Probst, Survivor simply would NOT BE Survivor.

Patti and I, along with a “slew” of other Survivor fans, feel Jeff Probst is critical to the Survivor Show.

Here we come Survivor Season 46.

DNA TESTING

Back, WAY BACK, in 1970, a series of events transpired to get me interested in my family genealogy. In 1975 I became a life member of my family genealogy association. I have my ancestry traced back to the French Huguenots and my primary emigrant who arrived in the United States in 1700.

I was recently asked if I would be willing to participate in a DNA test for my family association. DNA, is short for deoxyribonucleic acid, the molecule that contains the genetic code of organisms.

Do I correctly assume that at least some of you reading here have done at-home Covid Tests?  You have a swab, you swab one nostril for 15 seconds, then the other nostril for 15 seconds, then put the swab into a liquid which is then put on a test strip and bingo you have your test. 

The DNA at-home test is very similar EXCEPT you swab the inside of one cheek for 45 seconds and put that swab into a small vial. Then you swab the inside of the other cheek for 45 seconds and put that swab into a second vial. Then you mail the two vials to a DNA Testing Laboratory.

And?

Wouldn’t you KNOW it? I failed to take photos of the process to show here on dotnet! Oh Sigh ! There are days that I feel like “I am losing it” and there are days when I KNOW that “I am losing it”.

This upcoming Saturday the 2nd of March, Patti and I head back South to Phoenix, Arizona, for Mayo Clinic appointments March 4th through 6th. Friday March 8th, I have a medical appointment here in Lake Havasu City.

    If I understood correctly, you’re going to get a BIG PROOF that you ARE a DESCENDANT of French Huguenots who arrived in the United States in 1700?

      Yes Olga. Basically this is correct. One in particular. Pierre Chastain who had three sons. I descend from son Rene. Thanks Olga for your interest. Cap

          Oh no Olga. There is no possibility that any person can accomplish that, get acquainted with their entire family generation tree. Too, far too many offshoots. But I can go directly back up my leg of the family tree to the one man, Pierre Chastain, who immigrated in 1700. Smiles Olga. Cap
