NATIONAL DAY CALENDAR.. Is the source of all of the information on my “Days”.

STRETCH YOUR IMAGINATION!

Have any of you ever heard of CHANT AT THE MOON “Day”.

What on this good Earth is CHANT AT THE MOON “Day” about?

Below is the answer!

Chant at the Moon Day allows us to blow off steam and release our inner goofball.

How often do we really let loose and unleash some primal nature chanting?  Grab your friends and see who can come up with the silliest chant! And film it!  You never know when you’re going to need some light blackmail material.

Ah, summer, where the days are long and the nights are longer. On August 15, join thousands of people around the country to chant (or even howl) into the heavens as part of Chant at the Moon Day.

This annual event was inspired by the Wenatchee, Washington-based fruit grower, Stemilt’s. According to local legend, harvesting Stemilt’s cherries around the full moon makes them sweeter. The moon’s gravitational pull enhances the tree roots where the cherries are grown. Stemilt decided all this sweetness deserved a celebration—so gather your friends together and let loose your best lunar cheer!

No Chant at the Moon Day would be complete without the fruit that inspired it. Gear up for a successful chanting adventure by eating sweet cherries as the moon comes out and give thanks for all the wonderful fruit summer brings!

Learn some lunar history. Do you actually know how large the moon is? Celebrate this amazing celestial body by researching some fascinating facts about our solar system. You’ll amaze yourself — and more importantly, impress your Chant at the Moon squad!

Chant At The Moon Day Tid-Bits.

Every 100 foot gain in elevation pushes a cherry harvest back one day. This is why Stemilt’s moon cherries are harvested so late in the summer.

Moon cherries are harvested at sunrise. Due to their delicate nature, cherries are harvested in the early morning hours in order to maintain their luster.

62% of sweet cherries produced in the U.S. are grown in Washington (The Evergreen State). When combined with California and Oregon these three states make up 94% of the nation’s sweet cherry production.

One cup of cherries is less than 90 calories. That same cup of cherries has 3 grams of fiber, which aids in digestion, lowers cholesterol, controls blood sugar and can help with weight loss.

Cherries get their red color from anthocyanins.

We thought you’d never ask! Anthocyanins are a class of water-soluble flavonoids widely present in fruits and vegetables

They also help protect the heart and its surrounding tissue.

Well? That IS That for Chanting At The Moon, Says Baba Kaps and Patti.

RELAX!

After all of that Moon Chanting!

On August 15, we celebrate National Relaxation Day.

Sometimes, you just have to stop and smell the roses. While you won’t make it far in life without putting your best foot forward, that American work ethic can be a double-edged sword. It’s hard to avoid burnout without kicking that foot up on an ottoman every now and then!

National Relaxation Day gives you a chance to just. say. no. No, you won’t be braiding Kiki’s hair. No, you don’t feel like cooking Pennywhistle Pasta for the school bazaar. It’s your time to kick back and chill out!

National Relaxation Day is celebrated annually on August 15. We thought an adult would have pitched the idea for this holiday, but it was actually Clio, Michigan-based Sean Moeller who thought of this day in 1985 when he was nine years old!

With an idea like this, we are sure he must have gone on to do many other great things in life. From 2016 onwards, Sean Moeller has selected one individual every year who sets an exemplary example for relaxation. Try as I could, I could not find a listing of people that he has selected as a good example for relaxation.

National Relaxation Day is not to be confused with another similar holiday — National Slacker Day. The latter was founded in Britain as a complementary holiday to National Relaxation Day.

National Relaxation Day advocates chilling out and promotes stress relief through meditation and other relaxation techniques. Managing stress requires relaxation, which leads to a clearer and calmer mind. Relaxation also breeds positivity and better concentration. The hustle and bustle of the daily grind leaves most of us on the verge of burnout, and there just never seems to be enough time to just kick back and relax. Those with a busy schedule look forward to Relaxation Day, even if it’s just to get some headspace.

The rule of the day is, if it is possible, to avoid doing anything stressful. This is important. Playing video games can be a relaxing activity, but if the video game you are playing is one where you get frustrated, it’s probably not a good idea. Our watching the Stanley Cup Ice Hockey finals was very stressful. A better idea is to spend the day lying in a hammock.

Tid-Bits..

How does one know one is stressed? Disturbed sleeping patterns, loss of appetite, frequent zoning out, and panicking, are just some of the tell-tale signs of stress.

How do you relax? This is subjective and varies from person to person. Breathing exercises, soaking in a warm bath, meditation, listening to soothing music, writing, and physical activity are some of the best ways to relax.

Your breathing pattern and oxygen levels are affected by stress — relaxing and doing breathing exercises help circulate more oxygen into your bloodstream and have major health benefits.

Music soothes us. For many people, simply listening to calm music is enough to lower stress levels.

Put ‘relax’ on your to-do list.  A study reported that 40% of people don’t take out time for relaxing, while 45% of people just don’t know how to relax.

Relaxation is classified under three categories: physical, mental, and transcendental.

Relax, but focus. Just a minute or two of relaxing between tasks results in increased focus and concentration.

Yea But!

EAT DESSERT..

Atta Boy Captain and Patti! This is “more like it”.

National Lemon Meringue Pie Day is celebrated annually on August 15.

Get ready to satisfy your sweet tooth. Lemons provide so much flavor to life with all of their culinary applications. You’ll never run out of ways to enjoy your lemons, from cake to ice cream and, of course, the all-time favorite: lemonade!

Lemon meringue pie is amongst the best lemon desserts. The golden shortbread pastry crust, savory lemon curd filling, and velvety meringue topping will have you floating on the clouds. So, for those who want to indulge their sweet tooth or those who haven’t tried it yet (what rock have you been hiding under?), celebrate this tasty dessert with other food lovers today.

Lemon meringue pie is made using lemon juice and zest, egg yolks, and sometimes with sugar and starch (depending on the adopted recipe). Peak-shaped meringue is spread on top of the pie before it goes in the oven.

Pinpointing the creator of this lemon pie is difficult with several theories of its origins springing up. Lemon-based pies, puddings, and custards have been around since the Middle Ages, according to history. In the 1700s, the innovative addition of putting meringue on top of the pie was adopted. Modern-day lemon meringue pie gained popularity sometime in the 1800s.

The first mention of meringue-covered desserts dates back to France. Menon, a French cookbook author, published a book in 1739 that includes a recipe for Pommes meringuées, or meringue-covered apple butter or applesauce. Around 1869, a cookbook referenced lemon meringue pie for the first time. Lemon cream pies were the name given to the meringue-covered lemon custard pies of the time.

Similar recipes were revealed in the U.S in the 1800s, one such recipe was meringue-covered apple pie known as ‘apples meringuées’ or ‘apple a la turque.’ Elizabeth Goodfellow, the proprietor of a Philadelphia pastry business, is credited with inventing the lemon meringue pie. She was in charge of the first cooking school in the United States.

Tid-Bits..

Lemon meringue pie is thought to be a Victorian-era English invention. Lemon Chester Pudding is how it’s known in certain circles. It is often recognized as one of the delicacies that introduced the world to British sweets.

Lemons are necessary onboard British Navy ships due to their healing powers arising from their high vitamin C concentration.

California and Arizona are responsible for 95% of lemon crops found in the U.S.

It has antibacterial properties. Mixing lemon juice with hot water creates an effective antibacterial mouthwash.

Lemons are fast and consistent growers. Lemon trees produce fruit throughout the year; each tree can produce up to 600 pounds of lemon annually.

A great way to end this Post!

Frankly, I don’t think your posting streak ended. It was no fault of your own, and I think you did manage to get something up during the “Account suspended” days. If YOU think it came to an end, at least you have the satisfaction that it was through no fault of your own.

Thanks Gullible. Because I ‘went back’ and re-wrote all eight of the (deleted by Midphase) Posts, the streak remains intact. I can look at my index of Posts and from September the 22nd 2022 until today, there is at least one Post on each and every single day. This is one reason that I went back and re-wrote the eight Posts I lost. Thanks so very much for all of your support and comments. Cap
