Ah yes! Life and its little surprises!
I was just shocked to realize that, among all of our categories here on dotnet, until now when I just originated it, we had no category titled Photos or Photography or Cameras.
IF there is one area of my life that is of importance, it is photography!

NATIONAL DAY CALENDAR.. Is the source of all of the information on my “Days”.
First we have.. NATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY DAY.
Then we follow up with WORLD PHOTO DAY..
I find that having two similar “Days” on the same day is odd!
National Photography Day, celebrated on August 19, honors the photographer who works to offer us images from across the world.
World Photo Day is also celebrated on August 19 and it celebrates the day when the French government purchased the patent for the daguerreotype process.

The definition of photography is quite literally “drawing the light” and British scientist Sir John Herschel came up with it in 1839. He used the Greek word phōtós, which means “light” and graphê which means “drawing or writing”.
Photography catches society’s imagination. Without the hand of a dedicated photographer, the images and art we adore would be nothing. Let us pay tribute to photographers by promising to give them credit where credit is due. Portrait photography, fashion photography, architecture photography, and landscape photography are just a few of the many forms of photography accessible today.
The daguerreotype process is a photographic process that creates highly detailed images on a sheet of copper plate with a thin coat of silver. The day requires participants to share a photo of their world, which can be anything the photographer chooses.

In 1884, George Eastman of Rochester, New York perfected the daguerreotype method. He replaced the copper plate with a dry gel on paper that he dubbed film. This technology eliminated the need for photographers to transport heavy copper plates and dangerous chemicals. Eastman created the Kodak camera in 1888. His invention made it possible for almost everyone to take a photograph.

Morocco is considered the best country for photography because of the lively colors found there.
Food photography pays the highest salary.
The art of taking photos isn’t just pointing and clicking. There’s much more that can go into photography. The background, the flash, color, shutter speed, and more all need to come together in just the right way to evoke a truly moving piece of art.

A great photographer can make the mundane appear spectacular. Everyday objects can take on a deeper meaning depending on the eye of the photographer.
The celebration of World Photography Day dates back to 1837 in France.
The first National Photography Day celebrations were held in 2010.
Interesting. With the rise of digital photography, many individuals no longer use film in their cameras.
Some photographers however prefer film over digital photography. Some of the reasons are their preferences for the film that include greater resolution, there is no need for electricity and fewer copyright concerns.
Photographs allow us to share our experiences with others. What better way to remember your holiday than with photos of you on the beach? A picture is said to be worth a thousand words.

I love how you are counting down to football season. I am anxiously awaiting it too. I watched a pre-season game last night (49ers v. Saints). I yelled as loud as a regular season game. And yes, the 49ers won. GOOOO NINERS!
Yes Oh Yes Kathleen! We definitely are ‘counting down’ to the upcoming football season. We don’t know which channels and networks will be available to us. For the season opener, September 5th, Ravens vs Chiefs, there is some ‘streaming’ platform called Fubo and NFL+ Subscription. We don’t have either Fubo or NFL+. So we may not get to see the season opener. How about you? I can’t believe we may not get to see the season opener! Still Smiling.. Cap and Patti who is quite a fan too!
My trusty sports app says it will be on NBC. It’s not a channel I can get with my antennae so I will be streaming it through Peacock. I sure hope it plays on one of your channels. It is aggravating when so many platforms are in play. Friday, 9/6/24, the Packers and Eagles will be streaming on Peacock but not on NBC. At least we are always guaranteed a few on Sunday.

You can’t get the game on NBC (because of your antenna) but you do streaming on Peacock so you will get the game! We agree with you that there are indeed FAR too many platforms! Cap and Patti. WE DO get NBC on our GCI Alaska “Yukon streaming platform” using our Amazon Fire T.V. We can talk the talk BUT walking the walk is another story.
