OCT 21, 24 .. HUG YOURSELF..
We know.
At least some of you are thinking .. “What on earth is this Post going to be about.?”
Patti is more active than I am as to “random internet surfing”. Make no mistake, I am not, in any way, criticizing Patti!
The internet truly IS a Treasure Chest of countless, extremely interesting, informative, you-name-it, information beyond what our human minds can absorb.
While she was “surfing the internet”.. Patti ran across the following..
Hug Yourself.

Hugging yourself, also known as self-embracing, is an act of self-love, self-compassion, and self-acceptance.
It can help you feel better in many ways, including..
Building self-esteem: A self-hug can help you feel worthy of love, kindness, and compassion.
Reducing stress: Self-touch can help reduce the body’s cortisol response to stress.
Improving mood: You can focus on kind thoughts while hugging yourself to improve your mood.
Relaxing muscles: Hugs can relieve tension and soothe pain.
Strengthening your immune system: Hugs can stimulate the thymus gland, which helps your body produce white blood cells.
Here are some ways to hug yourself..
Position your arms: Fold your arms around your body in a comfortable position, such as across your stomach or chest.
Squeeze: Squeeze yourself with the amount of pressure you want to create the desired sensation.
Rock: Gently rock back and forth while hugging yourself.
Stroke: Stroke your upper shoulders or forearms in a soothing way.
Talk: Talk to yourself and focus on kind, loving thoughts.
If you’re feeling isolated, you can use a weighted blanket, body pillow, or stuffed animal to hug.
Well I tired it, then Patti tried it. Both of us found, much to my surprise, it is actually quite pleasant.

Cap and Patti
Hi Cap and Patti, very nice post …. reminds me of how I hug my kids long distance … I tell them to place their right hand on their left shoulder and their left hand on their right shoulder… then squeeze and that’s a hug from me to you … you’re actually hugging yourself, while your loving thoughts are being sent to someone who is not physically near you … hugs are wonderful, giving and receiving, therefore self hugs are beneficial too!
Ginny your comment is absolutely amazing! It seems that we wrote, and published, this Post just for you Ginny! We too, after some experimentation, settled on placing our right hand on our left shoulder and our left hand on our right shoulder. Our photos show that. Your contributions, comments and support, along with others, mean so much to us. Cap and Patti..
