Michael and Ginny both commented on yesterday’s Post that they appreciated that I understand that no one should ever underestimate the potential life threatening danger that a Moose in the wild presents.
So I went back to yesterday’s Post and inserted the below photo to SHOW that I DO watch my Moose P’s and Q’s!

Do any of you suppose the yearling was thinking to herself.. “How do I get to that man with that truck between us?”

Hi Cap and Patti, Checking in as I’m just back from meeting Amy (22 today!) in Boston where she had a grad school interview. All is going along well with Tim, and fall is really in swing in the beautiful Black Hills.
That young moose sure is beautiful. What a pleasure to watch, and you know to be careful.
Take good care!
Hugs!
Kit
Kit.. So good to hear that all is going well with Tim. Boston? Grad School? Harvard maybe? Yes indeed I know to be careful of a Moose. Smiles .. Cap and Patti
Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS), has a great physician assistant program, and is right next to Harvard Medical School. They offer a full time 28 month program. Smart and determined Amy!
Sounds great Kit. Next to the Harvard Medical School. Smiles .. Cap and Patti .. By The Way, Patti’s niece was accepted into Harvard’s School of Law as a second year student and it is quite an experience for her.
Moose was probably thinking, “How do I get to that yummy birch tree while that guy is standing by it.:
When I shot the photos across the hood of our Suburban, maybe the Moose was thinking, “How do I get to that man with a truck between us?” Smiles .. Cap
I had one moose encounter in Girdwood that put the fear of moose in me. It held me at bay, one early early morning in the winter, as I was walking to work at the Alyeska Day lodge. Big, high snow banks on both sides so I couldn’t get to a tree. Every slight move I made it laid back its ears and raised its hackles. Finally, after 20 minutes or more, Jim Frazier came around the corner and rescued me.
Oh Gullible how I know about being challenged by a Moose, with its ears “laid back”, and looking at me inches away from my face with nowhere to go to get to safety. My very life was threatened. I did a Post about it. Whewie! Cap
