This afternoon .. to celebrate the first day of the New Year 2014 .. Patti and I took a short drive south of Anchorage Alaska down the Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet. The below photograph was taken at 3:23 PM and shows you how low on the horizon the winter sun is here in THE NORTH. And how ‘dark’ it is at 3:23 PM.
The below photos were taken today at ‘High Noon’ and you can see that they too are pretty ‘dark’ due to our winter sun being down-on-the-horizon. OH YES we DO get bright sunshine but we do not get it each and every day.
These photos were taken right outside of our front entryway door into our condo.
In the above photo can you all ‘spot’ Richtoffen our suburban who is eagerly awaiting his run down-the-highway.
Miss Anchorage and Miss Alaska I have got to hand-it-to-you .. you certainly are a pair of beautiful ladies all dressed-out for the winter.
Folks .. let me tell you this fact .. WINTER DEFINES ALASKA! .. you either like/love the winter or you ‘hit the road’ Jack!.
