Am I the only one (Pink Floyd was feeling isolated, depressed and alone) who will be happy (or should I say relieved) when next Monday dawns and the Thanksgiving 2024 Holiday Season, that, (in my mind at least) runs into Christmas 2024 and New Year’s 2025 will formally end this Sunday?
Christmas Wednesday 2024 and New Years Day Wednesday 2025 both felt like “Sundays”. Then their following Thursdays felt (to me at least) like Mondays only to immediately run into “another weekend” beginning Friday.
No! You all guessed it! When I sat down here, yet again, I had no idea what was coming!
Last Thursday morning, I was jolted by an incoming telephone call from my Doctor. I had asked several weeks ago to be put onto a “Cancellation List” to move my (this Monday January the 6th) 1pm appointment forward.
Frantically swiping (an act or instance of moving one’s finger across a smart phone touchscreen to activate a function) my smart phone.. I.. could.. not.. successfully.. answer.. my.. smart.. phone, (which is a very common occurrence by the way!) so I missed my Doctor’s incoming call.
I then spent 45 minutes (it seems to be next to impossible to quickly contact a Doctor’s office) learning that the incoming phone call was a computer generated notice about my Monday appointment!
When does it get easy??

Today is Saturday, the 4th of January 2025.
Today is the very beginning of this years Lake Havasu HOT AIR BALLOON FESTIVAL..
Patti and I will be there to sign up at 9am.

Oh we hear you up here on the 2 “Mondays” following the Wednesday holidays. Tim had to work Thursday to Saturday after Christmas and Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday this New Year week. Just felt weird, and it’s cold now…13f this morning. Going to stay in the teens for a bit.
We’re on the edge of our seats for the beautiful 🎈 balloons. I will play “Up, Up and Away” this morning! I love that song!

Laughing about the oh-so-familiar phone swiping. There is much about current technology that confounds me.
As for the holidays, I will kind of miss them. There’s a residue of warm fires, hot chocolate, softly-glowing trees that lingers into January until some rude Monday intrudes.
We here in Moose Pass have no snow other than a dusting! Except for a six-inch snowfall in November that disappeared in 40-degree weather and rain, that is how it’s been all “winter.” The lakes remain frozen so the skaters are happy and the local guys get together for hockey on the prettiest “hockey rink” in the world.
On the bright side, it’s easier on the heating bills!

Something you might appreciate:
I was watching a football game recently and was quite impressed with the color announcer. More than just what happened in the last play, he went into strategy and what the upcoming play should accomplish.
I Googled the announcers for this game. The color announcer was none other than Tom Brady, one of the best quarterbacks to play the game.
