JAN 22, 25 ( 1 / 2 ) .. MEDICAL PROCEDURE .. A SPIRITUAL CALLING..

Wednesday, January the 22nd 2025.

MEDICAL ..  WET MACULAR DEGENERATION ..

Today was, in many respects, “Quite A Day”.

No! I am not what you would call “dreading” the once every six weeks eye injection for my “Wet Macular Degeneration”.

For one thing, the left eye injections are, beginning with the very first ever one back on Friday March the 8th 2024 really (as in REALLY) helping my left eye.

I will put it thusly: I do not eagerly look forward to them. So far I have had a total of six (6) of them here in Lake Havasu City and up in Anchorage.

Patti and I checked in at 8:50am and were finished somewhere around 10:15am.

On a zero to ten, in many ways, today’s injection was a ten, as good as it gets. It really did NOT freak me out and I was calmer on this my 6th injection. And I really like and really trust my Doctors, here and in Anchorage.

BUT, having needles (two of them) inserted into your eye is still “an experience in and of itself”. No! You can’t really feel the second one (that injects the actual medicine) but you do kind of sort of feel the first one that is the final stage of numbing your eye.

I hugged Patti several times as I was awaiting the procedure and our hugs helped me a lot.

Five weeks and it will be time for the next injection.

GOD .. SPIRITUALITY .. CALLINGS ..

When I feel, and recognize a “calling”, I take them seriously and act upon them immediately if I am able.

I have been visiting a 90 year old friend (Lou)  in the hospital here in Lake Havasu City daily for the past several weeks. After two weeks in the hospital he was told that he is dying and nothing more could be done to stop the process. He rejected Hospice Care but he still had to be placed (with his wife who is also in critical health) in a nursing facility.

At 4:15pm this afternoon, sitting at our dining table, out of the blue I experienced a “calling”. I said  to Patti “We must go see Lou in the nursing facility now”.

When we arrived at the nursing facility there was a Paramedic Truck / Ambulance and a fire truck pulling in, both with lights flashing.

When we got to Lou’s room we were blocked by staff who said “You can’t go in we have a crisis situation!” Patti and I turned and there were the para-medics behind us. They were there to tend to Lou.

We saw and visited briefly with Lou’s wife in the room next to him and we left.

When a nursing facility calls 911 you know there is a real crisis!

Lou passed away at 5pm, about fifteen minutes after we left the facility.

How and why do these “callings” arise.

Something IS happening here, what it is ain’t exactly clear .. For What It’s Worth .. Buffalo Springfield.

Both Patti and I are numb with a LOT of feelings.

Catharsis : the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong emotions.

Writing these few words are a form of catharsis for yours truly.

Thanks God for this process.
