DO IT NOW ..
Just ask Patti if I am a “Do It Now” man!

“Just Do It” Day is on January 24, and we’re here to help you epically celebrate the day.
National “Just Do It” Day was first celebrated in 2015. It is a day that inspires us to do new things or to finally just do that one thing that we’ve been procrastinating for a while. It inspires us to start changing things in life by doing the one tiny thing we keep leaving undone — sit down and write that thank you note to a friend, clean the garage, or writing that email. One step can make a big change.
“Just Do It” is the slogan of shoe company Nike, and it is one of the most recognizable components of Nike’s brand. The slogan was first used in 1988 at an advertising meeting.
The words “Just Do It” are ingrained in the American way of thinking and embody far more than shoes. People moving to the U.S. find the ease with which motivated Americans get things done, quite remarkable, which is embodied by the slogan. The slogan also personifies focus and success, which is why it is appropriate for a day when we tackle things incomplete and undone, or go for the bold adventure we have always delayed embarking on. The words are the exact opposite of a couch potato and motivate one to be your best self.
“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.”
Use this day to do something good. Donate to charity. Help out someone in need. Send a “Thank You” card to someone who was there for you during difficult times. Call a friend whom you haven’t spoken to in years. The ideas are limitless.

Thanks to NATIONAL TODAY / NATIONAL DAY CALENDAR.. Who are the sources of most, but not 100%, of the information on our various “Days” such as the above and below “Holidays”.

PEANUT BUTTER..

When Marcellus Gilmore Edson first patented peanut butter in 1884, he probably didn’t realize it would become a taste sensation that would sweep the nation. Whether you go crunchy or smooth, on January 24 we put down our cell phones and pick up our spreading knives to celebrate National Peanut Butter Day.
Peanut butter is versatile. You have the option of spreading it on something, baking it, mixing it with noodles, coating meat with it or turning it into a delicious sauce, just to name a few. Seriously, the options are endless.
Peanut Butter Can Help You Stay on Your Diet (No, Really!) Even though peanut butter has a good amount of fat in it, it’s also a very filling food. Therefore, it keeps dieters fuller for longer, helping them resist the urge to mindlessly snack. Researchers at Harvard and Brigham and Women’s Hospital found in a study that people eating moderate-fat items, like peanut butter, were able to stay on a diet longer and keep weight off for a longer period of time than those who ate a low-fat diet. Is that good news or what?
Each time you eat a PB&J for lunch instead of red meat, like a burger or a ham sandwich, you’re shrinking your carbon footprint by almost 3.5 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions. You’ll also save 133 gallons of water and 24 square feet of land per each peanut butter and jelly lunch. Going green never tasted so good!

Yes Oh Yes! Patti and I eat a lot of peanut butter. I especially love peanut butter on Triscuit crackers.
