FEB 16, 25 .. LET’S HAVE SOME FUN.. FROSTBITE FRANK.. ALMONDS..

Frostbite Frank..

Frostbite Frank recently had MAJOR spinal surgery. He is out of the hospital after a somewhat prolonged stay. Do all of you know what “code blue” means in a hospital? “

A “code blue” in a hospital signifies a medical emergency where a patient is experiencing cardiac or respiratory arrest, requiring immediate resuscitation and the activation of a dedicated emergency response team; essentially, it means a patient needs immediate life-saving interventions like CPR and defibrillation.

How would you like to be in a hospital and a “code blue” was called to YOUR ROOM.

When Frank’s blood pressure hit 60 / over 40 a “code blue” alert to his room went out over the hospital communication system!

He survived and was transferred to a nursing care facility several days later. After two (2) days Frank checked himself out of the nursing care facility (unfortunately I did not save his text evaluation of the facility as “a place to hide bodies” ..) and arranged for three months of care from a professional, licensed “care giver” who was approved by his health insurance carrier. He will be getting daily care from 9am to 11am and from 3pm to 6pm.

We are talking to Frank almost daily. In our last chat Frank asked us..

“Have you ever experienced being around two ladies who both are “non-stop” talkers. Two of my closest lady friends visited me today. For six (6) hours the two of them talked non-stop! Unfortunately I have two ears but only one “processor”. It took me three (3) hours after the two of them left to regain some semblance of mental balance.”

Even though Frank faced imminent death Frank has managed to keep his good humor.

ALMONDS..

I have said over and over and over again that we only publish NATIONAL TODAY / NATIONAL DAY CALENDAR “Holidays” on topics that we personally have an interest in.

Twice a day, day-in and day-out, I eat 15 almonds. I roast Costco Kirkland almonds and I also pick the almonds out of Patti’s large “mixed nut” jars from Costco and Sam’s club.

Almonds..

You can toss them in a salad, ground them into flour, use them for a healthy alternative to milk, or just munch on a few for an afternoon snack. Almonds are among the most versatile and delicious of nuts. Filled with vitamin E, magnesium, and fiber, almonds are wonderfully healthy and may even help fight heart disease. So on February 16, National Almond Day, let’s pay tribute to these tiny powerhouses packed with goodness!

They’re a superfood. There may be no such thing as a perfect food, but almonds are pretty close. Packed with vitamins, minerals, and other important nutrients, almonds are also a great source of plant protein and healthy fat. Plus, studies have shown that almonds can help reduce belly fat and lower cholesterol.

There’s almost no dish that wouldn’t benefit from a sprinkling of almonds. From ice cream to green bean casserole, almonds add texture, taste, and variety to your menu. Really, everything is just a little better if you add almonds.

Eating almonds can keep your skin glowing. Almonds are a great source of vitamin E and other antioxidants that nourish the skin and reduce signs of aging. Researchers have found that several of the compounds in almonds can help fight skin cancer and damage by reversing the effects of a poor diet, pollution, and UV light exposure.

Now let’s have some fun.

Below are just a few “other February 16th holidays!”

That I am NOT going to publish.

Smiling!

Saturday, February the 15th 2025 (a/k/a “Yesterday”)

Patti and I successfully checked out of Motel 6 on Bell Road in North Phoenix at 10:50am ahead of our 11am deadline. We shopped for a few items at Sam’s Club on Bell road. Then, we filled up our GMC Suburban (we drove over two hundred miles IN Phoenix this past week) and headed South at 12:10pm.

We arrived here in Marana, Arizona, at 2:45pm. It took us some time to find our friends home in a large, yet semi-remote area.

Patti visited with our hosts (relatives) and enjoyed the view from their absolutely magnificent home.

While I lay down and I ..

S.. L.. E.. P.. T..

Our hosts served us an outstanding dinner and we all visited before and after dinner.

Now at 12:33am I AM ready to “Call It A Day”.

Today, Sunday the 16th of February we are all going to just “hang out” with NO plans. We may eat out this evening (Singapore Rice Noodles maybe) and I may do some shopping at the Tucson Costco.

Don’t forget that TOMORROW IS PRESIDENTS DAY A NATIONAL HOLIDAY..

As of now, we plan to head North and back to Lake Havasu City this upcoming Tuesday. I don’t want to be driving 300 miles on the last day of a three day holiday weekend.
