APR 19, 25 (1 / 2 ).. A VERY SPECIAL CEREMONY FOR A SPECIAL FRIEND..
Ah yes. A long Pause. A VERY LONG PAUSE.
So many of us are now “In our fast advancing Senior Years”.
But at least we all have each other.
Last Thursday we told one of our most special senior friends, that we were leaving Lake Havasu City this upcoming Sunday the 20th (a/k/a tomorrow).
She immediately told us that her husband was going to be honored for his military service and she asked us to attend his honor ceremony.
She asked us to come at 12:30pm Friday the 18th because the honor ceremony was to take place at 1pm and she felt the “ceremony hosts might be early”.
She did NOT tell us that the Honor Ceremony hosts were former members of the United States Marine Corps.
As we pulled up at their home and parked our truck, here came The Marines. Half an hour early!
All but one of the Honor Guard members and I were in The Marine Corps in the 1950’s so we “had a lot to talk about”. Our friend served in the U.S. Navy.
I snapped the below photos.

In the below photo, the presenter was holding his Honor Plaque and expressing gratitude for his service.

Our Honored Friend.

Around his neck is a special ceremonial “Dog Tag” engraved with a spiritual phrase.

What an honor it was for Patti and myself to have been asked to be participants in his Honor Ceremony!
He is now in Hospice Care.
