APR 21, 25.. SAFE IN LAUGHLIN, NEVADA.. LIBRARIES.. GULLIBLE..
This past Saturday, I was having trouble visualizing us traveling to Laughlin, Nevada, yesterday, Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025.
Well a small miracle happened. Patti and I left Lake Havasu City, yesterday at 3:15pm and arrived safely in Laughlin at 4:45pm. We actually had a very pleasant drive. We did not encounter even one single nut-case, super aggressive high-speed driver. Everyone was driving safely and respectfully of others on the road. What a nice change. The weather was a “doable” 90°F. We do NOT have air conditioning in our GMC Suburban.
The Edgewater Casino Hotel is “an old friend” to us.
We will be here four nights, checking out this upcoming Thursday, April the 24th. Tom Tiger will drive Patti and I up to Las Vegas and we will fly to Seattle and then on to Anchorage.

Thank You For Libraries Day is celebrated annually on April 21 to appreciate the contribution of libraries to society and their roles in transforming lives. Did you know that the first systematically organized library in the world dates back to the 7th century B.C.? Libraries are a collection of materials, books, or media that are accessible by the public. Libraries are a repository of knowledge, providing opportunities for learning and supporting literacy and education. In most communities, they are the center of art and culture and help drive creativity and innovation. There are currently over 110,000 libraries spread across the United States.
According to historians, the birth of libraries marked the end of prehistory and the start of history.
The first libraries were nothing more than archives for commercial transactions or inventory records. The first libraries appeared in Southwest Asia’s Fertile Crescent, which ran from Mesopotamia to the Nile in Africa about 5,000 years ago. This same area was also the birthplace of writing before 3000 B.C. These libraries contained records written on clay tablets, stacked on edge, side by side. Libraries of the same nature were found in several regions, including Ugarit, China, Nippur, and Nineveh. In the 3rd century B.C., the construction of the Library of Alexandria in Egypt began. The project was sponsored either by Ptolemy I Soter (323 B.C. to 283 B.C.) or his son Ptolemy II (283 B.C. to 246 B.C.). The library became the largest and most significant great library of the ancient world until the Roman conquest in 30 B.C. During this period, the Han Dynasty created three libraries, which featured the first library classification system.

Not only a long-time friend, but one of “The Usual Suspects” and “Here Comes Trouble”, our travel groups named by either Missy or her identical twin Katy. Trips to Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, and Russia. Also, camping in Yosemite Park, not to mention visits in Alaska.
