APR 25, 25.. HERE WE GO LOOP DE LOOP.. SAFE HOME IN OUR CONDO..
JUST.. BEGIN.. TO.. WRITE..
“When we start to write, we prime the pump and the flow of ideas begins to move. It is the act of writing that calls ideas forth, not ideas that call forward writing.” So sayeth Julia Cameron.

A few of you really know of how (call it challenging) our life has been as we have been getting ready to pack up and leave Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where we have “wintered” since last November the 10th 2024.
Deep breath. I feel like I could write a small book of short stories about our past week or so.
I am NOT going to do so.
Let me begin with THIS POST right THIS INSTANT.
I am sitting, in our Condo, in Anchorage, Alaska, on line with maximum bar strength writing.
AND NOW .. THE REST OF THE STORY .. Oh Thank You So Very Much Mister Revered Paul Harvey for those lines and stories you told.
Last week, I said to myself.. “I have got to call GCI (our internet service provider) and tell GCI that I want our internet turned back on Thursday the 24th of April!”
SENIOR MOMENT.. I absolutely, totally forgot to do what I needed to do to have internet when we came home.
Now please “get with me”..
Yesterday, on April the 24th, sitting aboard our Delta Airlines flight from Las Vegas, Nevada, about to land in Seattle, Washington, I thought ..”Oh my! I totally forgot to call GCI to get our internet reinstated!”
Are you “with me”?
So, as we are landing, I called GCI. I got a service representative. I explained what I wanted to do. He said, “I have to verify you Sir.” He sent me a code via a text message which I read back to him. (We have now landed and are taxiing to our arrival gate). Then he had to go through a long process. (I am now walking off the plane, pushing carry on bags, amidst a crowd of people, carrying on a conversation with GCI). Sitting in a wheel chair I continued this “song and dance”. (We are now at our departure gate for our Seattle to Anchorage flight). We are maybe 90% of the way finished with this process. I got dropped. I boarded the plane and, sitting in my seat, GCI called me back and we finished our process!
I asked my GCI Service Representative: “Sir, when will my internet service be reinstated?” (I dreaded his answer of maybe in one week). By now I was Cap to him. “Cap! Your internet will be reactivated in fifteen (15) minutes.
THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING..
NOT IN THE RECIPE!
Patti and I got home. THAT was another process. Our truck battery was dead. I had to call and get that serviced. THAT took time and cost money. And it was cold to us 43°F after a winter in sunny Arizona, and Voila. As you can see, we DO have internet in our condo!
It is 2:48am Friday, April the 25th. It is bedtime for us!
No more stories tonight.
Over And Out.

Seems everything involving being or getting online involves real dedication and determination. Good on you for getting back online!
Glad to hear you are safely home.
Hugs from Mayo Mothership for Tim’s wellness check up. He’s in the middle of the first of six appointments today.
Stay well!

Nice. Very nice that we now know it all went well at the Mayo Clinic Kit. Nice to be back in cool weather. Cap and Patti
Back to you Kit. Yes indeed it IS a true statement you uttered: Seems everything involving being or getting online involves real dedication and determination. In my case I would have to add one word: Luck. As in dedication and determination and luck. Smiles .. Cap
Wow! That was some impressive service. Calling you back so quickly is almost unheard of but getting service within 15 minutes of completing the request, that is like a unicorn. I can’t imagine how frustrating it was to find your battery dead. Especially when dealing with colder temperatures. But your flights went well, seems like they were all on time so quite a bit went right yesterday.
Often, when on a long telephone call with some organization, I will ask my contact person: If we get cut off, will you call me back. I’d say that 80% reply: No, we are not allowed to do that. So when my GCI point of contact called me back after I was dropped, I was really pleased. I couldn’t believe it when he said your service will be on in fifteen minutes. And it was.
The trucks dead battery was a real bummer.
Kathleen, the day went very well. Yes. On time flights. Successful early boarding. This is not to say that the day was relaxing. No it was stressful and we were exhausted at the end of it. Thanks for your comment Kathleen. Cap and Patti
Welcome home.
Thanks so very much Gullible. Cap and Patti
