MAY 30, 25.. TODAY’S RHETORICAL QUESTIONS.. MY LEFT EYE.. CATS..

I’m about to Wander The Streets of My Mind. Now you’ve been warned about reading one single word further!

TODAY’S RHETORICAL QUESTION..

Who.. Are.. They?

They are the ones, totally unknown to us individually, who create all of the Rules for all of us to live by. All of the You Shoulds and all of the You Shouldnts!

They are the ones who created Web Log (a/k/a Blogs) Rules.

There are far, FAR too many, Web Log Rules to list here.

What is the 80/20 rule for blogging?

This Rule dictates that 80% of your content (blogs, social media posts, email, newsletters, and so on) should focus on providing value to your audience through education, entertainment, or problem-solving. Only 20% at most of the content you share should be personal.

Actually, I pretty much agree with this “Rule”.

When it comes to YOUR personal issues and challenges, both Patti and I really look forward to, and we enjoy and empathize with you, when we hear about YOUR personal issues, challenges, etc et all.

Why?

Because YOU sharing YOUR own personal challenges and struggles may very well assist all of us in our own lives.

We “Absolutely Hung On” all of Gullible’s Posts about her recent serious, and life threatening medical challenges. All very personal sharing.

WET MACULAR DEGENERATION..

Below IS Personal Information.

TODAY’S SECOND RETORICAL QUESTION!

In terms of real physical pain and or general discomfort..

Why is it that what you are feeling NOW is the most aggravating pain issue ever?

Yesterday I had my eighth (8th), Wet Macular Degeneration injections. Over the course of 30 minutes, spread out, there are actually two injections with a needle along with two or three numbing eye drops.

Yes Oh Yes. My left eye is NOT too happy. My Doctor plainly said to me “There will be some bleeding in your eye. Don’t worry about it.”

This one left eye, a relatively small part of my body, is dictating to me what I can do to get away from the discomfort.

What can I do? Flood my left eye with quality eye drops AND lay down, close my eyes, and sleep. Which I have been doing a lot of.

If it was some other small part of my body, say a toe, or .. or .. or I could just “carry on in spite of it”.

Do you all have any idea of how a bleeding and uncomfortable eye is?

Captain!

My inner Muse is (very correctly by the way) screaming at me!!

IF your eye was THAT bad, you couldn’t, you wouldn’t, be writing this Post.

Jim in Lake Havasu City screams: Get.. Over.. It !!

I just Googled your eye injections and found the cost ranges from $10,000 to $90,000 per injection. Just for the drugs!

We Googled eye injections for macular degeneration and we found the cost ranges from $50 to over $3,000 per dose. My injections are Avastin which is one of, if not the very, lowest in cost. Our “actual billing costs” are in line with these much lower values than what you seemed to have found. I am going to post a copy of our Google findings in Saturday’s Post. Cap

Ugh health issues are so annoying, aggravating, painful. I can’t imagine what you are going through with the injections and I certainly wouldn’t tell you to get over it, even if I had experienced it before. Everyone’s experience is different. I will commiserate with you and agree on the fact that what you are currently experiencing is usually the worst because it is front and center.

I have had a miserable couple of days experiencing TMJ (jaw pain but worse that you can imagine if you’ve never experienced it.) I could hardly drink my coffee this morning or even talk to the cats. Alternating ice and heat packs helped a bit but even oatmeal for breakfast involved too much chewing. So lunch and dinner were smoothies. Unknown how long it will last. I tried to have a phone conversation and that was painful, not too mention the lisp I seem to have developed. My other food option is blending chicken soup and drinking that (worked well when I had some dental issues last year-actually pretty tasty.) The fun never ends!

And I have definitely snuggled with all the cats today at some point. Cats are very affectionate in general.

Every night, when I got to bed, one of the 3 cats will come to bed with me. It varies. It might be a different one every night or the same a few nights in a row. I never know which one will show up but apparently they have decided that I need company when I go to bed. I wonder how they decide who’s turn it is – rock/paper/scissors? I know they aren’t flipping a coin because I would hear it land. I read before turning out the light and they all lay across my shins during their turn. I would love to know what they are thinking!

I hope you feel a bit better by tonight’s posting. Hugs and prayers!

Thanks so very much Kathleen for NOT being a “Get.. Over.. It” friend and advisor! Written smiling. Actually the friend who practically screams “Get.. Over.. It” as he slams his hand down on a meeting room table is referring to people who are “nursing” an emotional grudge. “Get.. Over.. It” has actually helped me from time to time. Especially when I myself “know” I am holding onto something far too long!

Neither of us had ever heard of TMJ but there it is in Google. Have you found any self-managed home care remedies for your TMJ that give you any relief. I for one, at the advice of a dentist over 30 year ago, always sleep with a dental night guard because of my night time teeth clenching and griding. We have decided to by pass TMJ! If possible.

Love your cats and their behavior. What wonderful supporters they are for you Kathleen! It sounds to us like the cats made a decision amongst themselves as to who, and how many, will nest with you! Oh Yes .. To know what they are thinking Kathleen! Cap and Patti

I have a long time AA friend who said the chapter is called Into Action, not Into Feelings. And I agree. Sometimes we do just need to get over stuff. I can only handle so much of my own belly aching and then I don’t want to hear about it anymore. It’s a fruitless waste of energy. And I will tell myself to get over it. 😊😸
