JUN 16, 25.. WEBLOG (BLOG).. SENIOR MOMENT.. MISSING FRIEND..

If.. maybe I need to write IF .. because it is the BIG IF..

A long time friend Brad told me about her book and I remain forever grateful.

Near the very end of her book, on page 223, PROCRASTINATION, she writes: 

When we start to write, we prime the pump and the flow of ideas begins to move. It is the act of writing that calls ideas forward, not ideas that call forward writing.

So a writer just sits down and begins to write!

A VERY DISTRUBING SENIOR MOMENT

Now that I have actually begun to write here, the other day I experienced a very worrisome, call it bothersome, call it dangerous, Senior Moment.

I have reached that state of life where, very often, people either ask me if they can assist me, or they just actually assist me (opening doors, etc).

I pulled up to our local Post Office to check our mail. Parked our Suburban. I got out and, cane in hand, headed for the door. A man opened the door for me and, holding the door open he said to me: “Sir! Is that your smart phone on the ground beside your truck door?”

It was indeed my smart phone on the ground. I have absolutely no idea how I dropped my phone on the ground getting out of my truck. I strive to always have it in its case that is on a strap over my shoulder / neck to avoid just what happened!

NOW THE REST OF THE STORY..

Kathleen, who lives alone, is one of our longest, nearest and dearest friends, one who dates back over three decades, who was following us years before we started dotnet, one who comments often here on dotnet, has suddenly disappeared.

Last week Patti texted her. No reply. This is a friend who always replies at least within 6 hours if not instantly. Two days later I texted her. No reply. Then we called her and left her a voice-mail message. No reply.

?? Did she lose her Smart Phone? Without her smart phone (in her words) she can’t possible remember the phone numbers in her Contacts (nor could we nor could YOU!). Without her smart phone I doubt she can access dotnet here.

We have written her a snail-mail card hoping she is physically O.K. A senior like us, she does have some serious health challenges. So we hope she is alive and receives our card. 

Lastly! Patti has a family member who lives 15 minutes from her. He will attempt to go to her home and do a wellness check.

Tonight? Monday Night June the 16th. On ABC at 8:30PM Eastern time, The Indiana Pacers go into Oklahoma City to play the Thunder in Game 5 of the NBA Championship Finals. The series is tied 2 games each.
