This is one great Holiday for sure!
National Book Lovers Day is celebrated on August 9th.
Books are the purest form of escapism. They can take you to any time, place, or culture.
Why is this such a great Holiday for us?
Because Taa Daa.. “Us” includes Patti !!
Patti is a BOOK LOVER Par Excellence.
In my opinion, Patti reads, on average, 3 hard cover books each week, week in and week out, all year. Patti prefers to read books she can hold and just relax with while enjoying them.

Yes.. Yes.. Yes.. Of course! This NATIONAL TODAY Holiday does not really include reading e-books.
BUT Patti also reads Amazon Kindle e-books as well as hard cover books from our local libraries.

Patti really has a “Process”. She has pages and pages listing books she has read and Authors she really enjoys.
John Grisham would be at the top of her Favorite Authors List.
He has written 48 books. Patti has read 47 of his books! There is one of his books she has not yet been able to track down. Currently John Grisham has written 37 consecutive consecutive number-one fiction best sellers. His books have sold 300 million copies worldwide.

Be it when we are “Out and About” or sitting together in our living room or in bed just visiting.
National Hand Holding Day is celebrated every year on August 9.
This day was created to encourage people to hold hands as a way to emphasize the importance of touch and encourage affection towards loved ones. Holding hands is not only limited to romantic relationships but is a warm gesture that happens between grandparents and their grandchildren, parents and their children, a way of reassuring and guiding the young through the world. It’s also a means of providing physical support to the elderly.
Love languages are how people receive and express love such as using affirming words, spending quality time, providing acts of service, and receiving gifts.

I had to double-check the date. I could swear you recently posted that Patti had found a copy of The Pelican Brief. Was I dreaming?
I was right. Your post of May 20, commented that Patti found The Pelican Brief.
My dreams are sometimes so vivid that years later I can’t remember if they were real events or dreams. I was pretty sure I hadn’t dreamt about Grisham’s book because I wondered if I had a copy to loan Patti.
You were not dreaming it Gullible. We actually published three separate Posts, May 18, 19 and 20 about Patti’s adventures finding The Pelican Brief. Smiles Cap and Patti

From Patti.. You are right Gullible, I did not think to ask you if you might have a copy of The Pelican Brief. I used to get a lot of used books at Title Wave and then trade them back in for more, but did not think of Title Wave for the Pelican Brief for some reason. That resource seemed to cease once I had my Kindle. I sometimes check on Amazon, but often the prices are more than I am willing to shell out! You have been such a good and close friend in so many ways over our well over 55 years of friendship and I treasure you! Love, Patti
Gullible.. By the way, I have always admired your penmanship and wished mine were as neat and readable. I sometimes can’t read my own.
From Patti.. My penmanship took practice when I first began to write, but it has remained satisfactory to me over the years. My mother was my example of good penmanship. I get comments about it occasionally and your comment was also appreciated. Love, Patti
From Patti.. The reason The Pelican Brief was shown as unchecked (unread) in the one picture on Cap’s post is that I had not yet found it. Having read it now, I still check each time I am in the library to see if a copy is there (a copy so far always is there) to celebrate having been able to finally check that off my list! Perseverance leads to success!! Hugs! Patti
Patti? Do you always read one book before starting another? I am guilty of usually reading 3 or 4, bookmarking them along the way.
I prefer paper books as well, but will read on my ipad if traveling. Oh I love the world of books.

From Patti.. Yes Kit, I ALWAYS read one book at a time before starting the next one. I don’t know how I would keep the storylines and characters straight trying to read 3 or 4 books at a time!!
The main purpose of my Kindle is, like you, being able to read while traveling. It came to be when Cap and I were doing a lot of International traveling and I sometimes could not find books in English in the book stores. Our friend Gullible suggested I get a Kindle and, with Gullible’s assistance, Cap immediately put that in motion. I also rely on my Kindle sometimes when I have finished a book early in the evening with no other books to read and the library is already closed or near closing.
I, too, LOVE the world of books, starting from a very early age. Read on Kit, as will I !! Hugs to you and Tim, Patti
