SEP 2, 25.. GUEST CONTRIBUTOR.. DETROIT TIGER TOM..
Today’s Guest Contributor is Our Very Own Detroit Tiger Tom.
Tom lives in Laughlin, Nevada, with Our Very Own Ginny. For years Tom lived in the Greater Northern Detroit Metropolitan area. Now for several weeks at a time he visits where he lived in Royal Oak, a suburb north of Detroit.
We also call Tom “Coney Tom” because he really loves his Coney Hot Dogs.

It’s next to impossible to see, but in the below Photo up on the wall is a photo of the Stanley Cup.

Tom’s favorite Coney Island Restaurant is the Lafayette Coney Island.

Over the Labor Day Weekend, in Royal Oak, is a local festival titled “Arts, Beats and Eats”.
When Tom is back visiting Northern Detroit at this time of the year, he makes a point to check out the “Arts, Beats and Eats” festival.
Just a very few photos that Tom sent us.

Once again, thanks so very much Tom for sharing the above photos with all of us.

hi Kathleen- trust me, they are VERY good!! Tom
lol- what can I say? Not exactly “haute cuisine” but, I am a HUGE fan of a good coney-as I understand it , just over 100 years ago, when my hometown Detroit, was begining to boom,a Greek immigrant, named Keros, opened the ‘mothership’Lafayette Coney Island in downtown Detroit. His cousins, nephews, neices ect.spread the diners out across s.e. Michigan. I am told, that in French speaking Canada aka Montreal area, our dogs are known as “hot dog du Detroit”The coney-diners owned by folks from original Keros family,as far as I know, are American Kerbys National-all chains The chilli is the secret. I eat WAY too many when I’m home !!
lol- what can I say? Not exactly “haute cuisine” but, I am a HUGE fan of a good coney- also- r/e the Arts-Beats-Eats fest in Royal Oak,where I was lucky enough to live for 20+ years, the amount of musical talent in the Detroit area never ceases to amaze me.Yes,we are famous for Motown-rightly so. At this fest, every Labor Day weekend, over 200 different bands perform, on 5 different stages, I heard GREAT ‘soul’ bluegrass/ cajun/60’s rock/80’s rock, tons of great musicians. literally, if you don’t care for 1 band, walk a block up the street- some one is sure to be playing a style you like
Now Crocodile Dundee would say to you: THE ABOVE TWO COMMENTS ARE REALLY COMMENTS Tom Tiger! Smiles and Happy you’re back home. Cap and Patti
