SEP 13, 25.. ABERGAVENNY.. POSITIVE THINKING..

Interesting. Actually it truly is kind of amazing. During this life, we all see many things, we all hear many things, we all feel many things.

But some of these things that we see, hear and feel, will actually “take up residence” in our brains and remain with us perhaps a lifetime!

And at the time we see, hear and feel them we don’t consciously think to ourselves “I will remember this decades into my future!”

Back sometime in late July of 1968, the song written and sung by Marty Wilde, “Taking a Trip Up To Abergavenny” was released.

The first time I heard it I really enjoyed it!

Did I have a clue that it was “going to take up residence in my brain” for perhaps the rest of my life? No! But it certainly did.

Because it is very special to me, now you know why I selected this as a NATIONAL TODAY HOLIDAY!

ABERGAVENNY..

Abergavenny is a market town and community in Monmouthshire, Wales, around six miles from the English border. Abergavenny is promoted as a “Gateway to Wales”. The town used to be the site of an ancient Roman fort but today, it is more famous for its delicious cuisine and culture.

The Abergavenny Food Festival, as suggested by the name itself, is a food festival celebrated in Abergavenny on the third weekend of September. This year, the festivities will take place from September 13 to 14.

POSITIVE THINKING..

How can you think of positive thinking and not think of the book written by Norman Vincent Peale, The Power of Positive Thinking!

Positive Thinking Day is celebrated on September 13 every year to highlight the rewards of positive thinking. Positive Thinking Day is all about thinking positive thoughts.

One of the best ways to start thinking positively is by catching your thoughts and reframing them. If you find yourself having a negative reaction to a situation, try to change your perspective. Try to identify the reasons why you feel negatively towards the situation, and if you can, try to pick the positive outcomes of the same situation.

Talking to a friend who is going through something similar, or simply thinking out loud can help you find the positive in any situation.

Remember, the positives don’t have to be huge, monumental wins, just simple, small wins that uplift and encourage you. A lot of small wins throughout the day will result in a positive attitude.
