I have always associated the term “Mulligan” with the game of golf!
What else to do but..
Google “Mulligan”.
Ah Hah! Basically I had it correct. Informal Golf.. An extra stroke allowed after a poor shot, not counted on the scorecard.
Note that the term “Mulligan” is NOT used in organized or professional golf.
Now Patti has her story..
Once Patti’s mother was cooking a large stockpot full of many foods. Patti asked her Mom.. “What are we having for dinner?” .. Her Mom replied .. “Kind of a Mulligan Stew!”
A stew made from odds and ends of food.
Patti knew her mother was a good cook, so she expected it to be good .. and it was!!

Neither a stew nor a golf game but Mulligan also means everyone deserves a second chance.
David Bernard Mulligan, a Canadian golfer and one-time manager of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, would often ask for a second shot off the first tee, thus coining the term “Mulligan.”
Everyone deserves a second chance.
National Mulligan Day applies to any undertaking in which you would care for a “do-over.” Mulligans are for those with the determination to fight through the adversity of the mishaps of life. Let’s be honest — we all need a mulligan from time to time.

Oh My! Oh My! Breast Cancer! Early Detection!
This is all about Patti!
Patti has had surgery for Breast Cancer two times, in 2012 and in 2021. Thanks to very early detection each time, Patti has not had to undergo Chemo Therapy or Radiation Therapy.
Mammography is a technique using low-energy x-rays to detect calcification, which is a sign of the beginning stages of breast cancer.
A Mammogram is so effective that it can reveal breast changes up to two years before either a patient or their doctor can feel them.
Occurring every third Friday of October..
This year National Mammography Day lands on October 17.
National Mammography Day is a cousin to Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Early detection could mean early treatment and the difference between life and death.
THIS IS VERY INTERESTING!
Every two minutes, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. Only 1% of men get diagnosed with the affliction, so it’s important that they too are educated on the disease. Breast cancer doesn’t discriminate, so make sure to self check your breast tissue regularly, regardless of your gender.
