OCT 25, 25.. I CARE ABOUT YOU.. MAKE A DIFFERENCE..

Today, unlike the past two days..

We have two very excellent and worthwhile NATIONAL TODAY Holidays!

I CARE ABOUT YOU DAY..

We celebrate National I Care About You Day on October 25.

This is the day where we honor everyone in our life for no other reason but to tell them we are grateful.

Without both romantic and platonic love and friendships, and/or family — we’re doomed.

Material things can’t possibly do what other people can do.

Being in a committed relationship is linked to less production of cortisol, a stress hormone. Good relationships can promote better healing. Research suggests married people who have undergone heart surgery are three times more likely to survive the first three months after surgery than single patients.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY..

Make a Difference Day is celebrated annually on the fourth Saturday of October, that being today, October 25th this year.

If you have ever wondered if your actions can make a difference, the answer is yes!

Make a Difference Day was created by “USA Weekend” magazine in 1992 to offer community support and encourage volunteerism across the country.

YOU can Make A Difference by just sharing a smile with a stranger.

A little over a week ago, October the 14th, I shared the below story with you here on dotnet.

I was at Costco. I had gotten my groceries and I was pushing my shopping cart toward the exit.

To my right, I passed a somewhat “short, stocky, unattractive, grumpy, frumpy” looking lady I would guess was in her 50’s. She was standing still. She was NOT a “Happy Camper”.

On the top of her shopping cart was a bag of Costco Croutons.

I stopped and, pointing at her bag of identical Costco Croutons, I said to the lady. “I really love those croutons!”

Then I reached into my shopping cart and I pulled out my own bag of the croutons and showed it to her.

She just melted. A wide smile appeared that almost lit up the room she was so pleased!

It sure completes my life to care about those I love. Yesterday was Amy’s 23rd birthday, and I am so grateful I am her mom.
Thank you for this cheerful reminder to celebrate, and we, Tim, and I, so appreciate YOUR friendship. We care about you two too! Go forth, and enjoy your day! Hugs from here.

Where Oh Where has the time gone Kit! Amy is age 23! We all need reminders to be grateful and to “Pass On To Others” as we live our days. Thanks Kit for your comment and support. Soon you will be moving into your new “Digs”. Smiles .. Cap and Patti

While looking at each different day to celebrate is fun and interesting, everyday should be a day to share a smile, a kind word, a hug, a prayer … showing God’s love and kindness is a daily goal … thankful for my family, friends and faith everyday! Hugs, love, prayers and thankfulness to you both … enjoy this new day

You are absolutely correct Ginny. Daily or even hourly or even minute to minute we need to be grateful. Smiles.. Cap and Patti
