OCT 28, 25.. CHOCOLATE.. STONES and then?? NO STONES.. FRIENDS OF BILL..

How could we not show CHOCOLATE DAY on NATIONAL TODAY??

Actually, this is the first time here on dotnet, that we have looked at National Chocolate Day!

NATIONAL CHOCOLATE DAY..

National Chocolate Day, is celebrated each October 28.

The history of chocolate goes back 2,500 years. Aztecs loved their newly discovered liquid chocolate to the extent that they believed Quetzalcoatl, the god of wisdom, literally bestowed it upon them.

Some Chocolate Tid – Bits..

Chocolate is a fermented food. Once the cacao pods are picked, cleaned of pithy white material from the fruit and dried, the cacao beans are fermented.

White chocolate isn’t chocolate because it contains no cocoa solids.

More than three-in-four surveyed have chocolate at least once a week

Nearly two-thirds of respondents pick milk chocolate over dark or white.

Four-in-ten people surveyed pick Hershey’s as their go-to brand.

90 million — the number of chocolate Easter bunnies manufactured every year.

36 million — the number of heart-shaped chocolate boxes sold every Valentine’s Day.

22 pounds — the amount of chocolate that would need to be eaten to kill a person.

STONES and then?? NO STONES..

This recent September the 16th, we showed our neighbor’s daughter’s prized collection of stones.

Then just the other day, they were gone! No warning! No advanced notice! Nothing!

Our neighbor’s daughter was distraught! Upset! Sad!

Luckily, just in the “nick of time”, they found the landscaping crew’s truck up the street and carefully “went through” a vast collection of leaves, grass clippings, etc and found about 75% of the missing stones!

We are sad on their behalf!

I will certainly celebrate by eating chocolate today! 85% Lindt is my favorite right now. But there are dark chocolate-covered cashews and almonds in the house that also make me happy. The friends I am living with also love chocolate so there is zero chance of us running out.

10 days back, we went to the local chocolate factory (Sconza) sale – 50,000 lbs. The lines were very long but went quickly. My favorite part: lots and lots of samples. It was heavenly.
