It is really nice when both the first and the second NATONAL TODAY Holidays are two we are interested in.

Who doesn’t like some sweet candy as they participate in voting day either by actually voting or just following the elections?

November 4 is National Candy Day.

The story of candy begins in India. Between the 6th and 4th centuries BC, the Persians and Greeks learned that the people in India had, what they called, reeds that make honey without bees. These reeds were actually sugarcane, which is indigenous to Southeast Asia. Ancient Indians would boil sugarcane juice, turning it into individual pieces of sugar, which they called “khanda.”

For some of us, today is Election Day.

Election Day is observed on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, taking place on November 4 this year.

USE YOUR COMMON SENSE DAY..

This Holiday interested Patti and me so we decided to have a little “Look See”.

Common Sense Day was first celebrated in 2015.

Use Your Common Sense Day is observed annually on November 4.

Common sense is “the applied knowledge of simple, sensible things”

Will Rogers remarked “Common Sense ain’t that common”! 

Common sense seems to have fallen by the wayside. There have been calls for subjects stimulating common sense in the school curriculums in the U.S. because so few seem to employ it!

Common sense has ben defined as ‘the basic level of practical knowledge and judgment that we all need to help us live reasonably and safely”. Without any doubt, applying common sense could save one a lot of problems.

This is a good day to spend time reviewing the events of the past with a fresh perspective. This will help recognize areas where you made avoidable mistakes, and help make better decisions in the future.
