NOV 8, 25.. WE HAVE RETURNED SAFELY TO LAKE HAVASU CITY, ARIZONA.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7th, 2025..
In the proverbial “nutshell”, everything went very well.
I was up around 6am after doing a fair amount of pre-packing last Thursday evening. Checkout time at the Edgewater is 11am and we were very comfortably checked out by 10:45am.
We went directly to Sam’s Club over in Bullhead City, Arizona, across the Colorado River from Laughlin, Nevada. The first order of business was to fill up our GMC Suburban with gasoline. I had a terrible time aligning our Suburban with the gasoline pump. The problem was I was filling our left side gasoline port when the fuel pump was across the rear of the truck on the right side. But never ever has this bothered me. Finally a man behind me successfully “coached me”. He said that I was too far away from the gasoline pump and so I went forward and (it took three tries) eventually got it right. Go figure.
Then came a long shopping visit at Sam’s Club. I had to have a lot assistance (and I received it from the Sam’s Club staff) finding about half of the items I purchased. Patti relaxed in our truck. I ended up making two separate shopping trips. We purchased over $400 in items.
Then we headed South down Hwy 95 in Bullhead City. We got an extra large, blue ice Froster, in our favorite Circle K. Then a stop at a Dollar Tree Store. Then a stop at a local Walmart. Finally off for Lake Havasu City.
We made a Wendy’s Stop (a large Frosty cost $6.11). Then drove to Lake Havasu City stopping at our local Walmart Store. By now it was well into the “dark of night”.
We made another shopping trip to our local Smith’s Store (Kroger) and then home to our apartment .. exhausted. It was in the high 80’s here today and far too hot for yours truly BUT Anchorage is being hit with its first major snow of the 2025-26 winter.
Unpacking and getting more or less organized now it’s past 12 midnight and I need to go to bed.
