NOV 21, 25.. AREA CODES.. CAP’S SENIOR MOMENT..
To date, we have never shown a NATIONAL TODAY Holiday that does not feature the current day and date.
On November the 10th we featured the United States Marine Corps birthday. On November the 10th we didn’t want to, in any way, detract from that holiday.
But Area Code Day sure looked interesting to us so.. !
We are setting a new president using a holiday from the past.
Are we being Absurd?
So be it!

Area Code Day is celebrated on November 10.
Our system of area codes is important as it helps people to connect telephonically with people living outside their states or cities easily and quickly.
Area codes were created by AT&T and The Bell System in 1940. Eighty five (85) years ago? This long ago? That surprised us.
The Bell System stopped its service in 1982. The Bell Telephone Company closed its doors in 1983.
In 1947, area codes helped to overcome the shortage of phone numbers in countries like the U.S. and Canada through the North American Numbering Plan (NANP).
The North American Numbering Plan (NANP) consisted of 25 different regions, including North America and the Caribbean.
There are two kinds of area codes, local and toll-free. Those that are not toll-free, represent the geographic region to which a phone number belongs.
The area codes for more populous states started and ended with a lower number.

CAP’S SENIOR MOMENT!!
Last Tuesday, we had a real rainstorm.
Notice the chair in the above and below photos.
It’s difficult to see in the below photo, but the above chair had a sizeable “puddle” of water standing on it.
I saw the storm coming. I photographed the rain. I knew our area was wet and drenched with water.
Get it? Got it? Good!
So what did I do on Tuesday evening?
CAP’S SENIOR MOMENT!
Tuesday evening (it was dark but our outdoor light was turned on) I sat down in the puddle in the above chair.
My Sweatshirt, my trousers, my T-shirt and my Shorts were instantly “soaked”.
I had to “strip completely”, hang up my clothes to dry, and get on all dry clothes.
Dumb Huh!
Senior Moment Huh!

I so love how we can live ‘vicariously’ through others experiences! I belly-laughed over this bamboozle, my dear Cap! I just know that somewhere in my past or future this has happened to me, too!
A while back I was with Little Bit at the London Bridge Park, engaged in some deep, philosophical (yeah, sure!) conversation with another dog owner. We were standing at the conjunction of irrigation sprinklers. BAM! Out of nowhere about 1/2dz sprinkler heads started pumping out water like there was no tomorrow! Needless to say, we were caught in an unannounced deluge of water. We moved quicker than quick to minimize the shocking free shower and….No Harm/No Foul was the order of the day! Funny, my friend stated “they never saw me move so fast!” hahaha
As innocent (yet shocking) as your wet pants were the positive note is that it probably won’t tend towards keeping extra stores of ‘Depends’ at hand! lol
