OUR SUN HAS RETURNED..
For much of this past week, we have had dark skies and “record setting” rains.
Yesterday (Tuesday) we had 76°F, sunny and warm.
Nice. Very Nice.

Here we go with NATIONAL TODAY..
We got a kick out of the following three NATIONAL TODAY Holidays posted all together..
International Cake Day .. National Heath Day .. and (do they even still have) Juke Boxes.

Let’s begin with..
Oh My Goodness! I totally misread this NATIONAL TODAY Holiday!
It is NATIONAL HEATH Day..
Heath is an English name used as a surname and first name.
NOT HEALTH Day..
Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being.
Another Senior Moment for both your Captain and Patti who also misread it.

I need a piece of CAKE!
Hello NATIONAL TODAY?
NATIONAL TODAY.. Do we really need two (2) NATIONAL (above) and INTERNATIONAL (below) Cake Holidays?
How about another piece of Cake?

National Cake Day..
And INTERNATIONAL CAKE DAY..
Both fall on November 26.
Marie Antoinette said it best when she (allegedly) said “let them eat cake!”
No one really knows how these holidays came about, but we all know that we all love to eat cake.
The word ‘cake’ itself is of Viking origin, and is derived from the Old Norse word ‘kaka.’ The Greeks also had their own cake which was baked using flour mixed with other ingredients such as eggs, milk, nuts, and honey. They also had a cake called ‘satura,’ which was flat and had a heavy consistency.
Cakes are said to contain oxytocin, the “love hormone,” which is responsible for causing happiness in humans.
If you want the best out of your cake, then you should definitely refrigerate it to ensure it lasts as long as possible.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve, my precious Cap and Patti!
Enjoyed your blog. It has again set my sugar craving in high gear.
Namely, Heath candy bars and Heath flavored Eskimo bars/ice cream sandwich!
And you, my good friends have come to the rescue……
Since candy prices have skyrocketed I’ve been bypassing stocking up on Heath candy bars which I’ve been known to binge on, and Eskimo bars (Heath flavored) have been a bit out of my price range.
But you, dear friends, have given me an alternative/options: 3 tubs of Peanut Brittle! OMG! I’m woofing it down like there’s no tomorrow! Progress report….almost finished on the 2nd tub!
Alas, what to do?
It’s obvious…I’m off to finish off #2! Muchas gracias for lending support of my excessive sugar consumption! (not to worry. I’ve been a sugar-a-holic since I was knee-high to a grasshopper!) lol

Hi Michael. GOOD to see you at tonight’s meeting. We too are on the 2nd Peanut Brittle Tub but with a sizeable amount remaining say 80%. We seem to have Rung A Bell with our mistaking HEATH for HEALTH! I don’t recall seeing HEATH Bars at Sam’s Club up in Bullhead City. Smiling. Cap and Patti
