After my “Taking Them To Task” in both Tuesday’s and yesterday’s Post, today I will show two of today’s NATIONAL TODAY Holidays that border on being ridiculous.

What on earth could this be about?
Wear Brown Shoes Day is on December 4.
The exact origin of Wear Brown Shoe Day is unknown. We can believe that!
At one point in time, brown shoes were considered less prestigious than black shoes!
We can all agree that brown shoes need more love!
Things have changed and brown shoes are viewed as a symbol of elegance and beauty.
Step out in your brown shoes and make your statement!

NATIONAL SOCK DAY..
National Sock Day, is celebrated on December 4.
In 2016, it was officially declared that National Sock Day would be celebrated annually on December 4.
Whether you’re a fan of knee-high, crew, ankle, or low-cut socks, or even the ones sporting tiny holes, the history and significance of National Sock Day will make you love your socks even more!
Socks are a common necessity for all people, from babies to grandpas. All use socks daily!
The word ‘sock’ comes from the Roman word ‘soccus’ that is a loose-fitting slipper worn by theatre artists of that time.
Traditional etiquette guides say that the sock color should match the color of the shoes and/or trousers, but the shade should be a little darker than trousers and lighter than the shoes. Smiling!
On average, a family of four members will lose 60 socks annually — that is approximately a loss of $300.
82% of young men wear odd socks at least once a week due to lost socks.
Enough? I think so!

Oh it is amazing how many celebrations on the national calendar and for so many different subjects!
Brown shoe day! Love those comfy shoes Patti. I hope they serve you well.
My standard work wear include my brown Ariat terrain boots. They are waterproof and fairly well insulated. I wear them year round unless mud is real bad. Then I change to my muck boots. 😊
So glad I no longer wear a suit and heels.
Have a great day. We’re slow on our move due to snow and low temps. We’ll get there after Mayo next week for his wellness check. We’re always thankful for your great trust in them. I wouldn’t have known to insist we drive there if I hadn’t followed your journey.

Thanks Kit for your comment. Yes Kit it truly is amazing how many NATIONAL TODAY Holidays there are over the year. Some days are lean with very few and others rich with many to choose from. We only use Holidays that we personally have a connection with. Brown Shoes on the day Patti received Brown Shoes. Too funny Kit.
So snow and low temps ARE indeed slowing down your move. How special Kit that my Mayo Clinic experience that dates WAY BACK TO August 1988 and came back into my life with my broken hip in November 2016 helped you and Tim take advantage of their expertise Kit!
