Hello.. Hello.. Hello to you our readers. This is Part 1 of what will be a 2 Part Post.
Part 1, this Post, will be a “Traditional Post” today showing several NATIONAL TODAY Holidays of interest to us.

Straws?
Too funny!
But here we go!

Straws?
You thought I was kidding!!

Drinking Straw Day is celebrated on January 3 every year.
Whodda Thunk??
January the 3rd was the day Marvin Chester was awarded a patent for his innovation, the paper drinking straw. Imagine a world without straws?
Drinking straws have made our lives a lot easier!
Drinking with a straw is very clean, and we can take our time, sipping leisurely.
Straws help reduce tooth discoloration because it doesn’t let the drink affect your teeth directly. It also helps hospital patients ingest food easily.
In the U.S. alone, up to 500 million drinking straws are used every day.

I have often said only NATIONAL TODAY Holidays that we truly relate to are published here on dotnet.
Do Patti and I actually use drinking straws each and every day?
Have a look-see at our straws.

My drinking Prune Juice is the primary use for our above straws. But oh Yes! We also use tall straws for our Gatorade and Propel Liquids.

Maybe me being up into the late hours of the night is affecting my sleep!
Well Hello again NATIONAL TODAY..

Festival of Sleep Day is celebrated on January 3.
After a busy festive holiday season, this day of rest and relaxation means you can snuggle up and doze off! So cancel those plans and plump your best pillow, because we’ve got the dreamiest ideas for getting a bit of shut-eye, along with some fun facts to make sleep your new favorite hobby.
If counting sheep isn’t helping you nod off, focus on breathing deeply and releasing the tension in your body to ease yourself into a state of relaxation.
The more tired you are from physical exercise, the better you’ll sleep. So tire out your body before you hit the hay tonight.
When we sleep, we consolidate our learning and memories from the day, meaning a good night’s sleep is more likely to improve our memory in the long-run.
Dreams take place in the rapid eye movement (REM) phase, which occurs in short bursts throughout the night and creates the perfect environment for our brains to travel elsewhere.
While dreaming in color is the norm, approximately 12% of people dream in black and white, just like an old movie.
When you eat, it kick-starts your metabolism, making your brain more active. If you sleep too soon after eating, your brain will still be whirring away, churning up (usually bad) dreams.
