MAR 8, 26.. DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME.. PROOFREADING..

95% to 97% of the State of Arizona DOES NOT participate in Daylight Savings Time!!

As a result, I had completely forgotten that today, at 2am (2 O’Clock in the morning) many (All?) of you will experience YOUR clocks “Springing Ahead by one Hour”.

Hi Ginny! Hi Detroit Tiger Tom!

Your lives are going back to normal again until Sunday, November the 1st!

The beginning of Daylight Savings Time is observed on March 8 this year.

Benjamin Franklin came up with the notion of resetting clocks in the summer to save electricity.

The fundamental concept is that Daylight Savings will help us all to create better use of natural daylight: putting the clocks forward one hour in the spring will give us more daylight during summer nights while changing the clocks back one hour in the fall would give us more daylight during winter mornings. Thus, Daylight Saving Time helps us save energy and reduce costs.

The NATIONAL TODAY Holiday does NOT go into the objections against Daylight Savings.

Objections to Daylight Saving Time (DST) focus on severe health risks, including a 24% increase in heart attacks following the spring shift, elevated stroke/obesity rates, and reduced sleep. Critics cite increased traffic accidents, lowered productivity, and minimal energy savings, pushing instead for permanent standard time to align with natural circadian rhythms.

Below is much more!! It is well worth looking over.

How many times have we written, that only when either Patti or I have actually experienced a NATIONAL TODAY Holiday, do we include one here.

Let.. Me.. Tell.. All.. Of..  You.. When it comes to proofreading all of my writings, Patti is my Proofreader par Excellence!!

National Proofreading Day, is celebrated each year on March 8th..

National Proofreading Day is an opportunity to slow down, proofread your work, and then proof it again. And if you’re lucky enough to work with an editor who proofs your work for you, National Proofreading Day is a great opportunity to thank them for always ensuring that your writing is free of mistakes.

Taa Daa .. Thank You Patti for all of the outstanding proof reading you do!!

Proofreading everything that you write! Before you send that email or text or turn in that paper, take the time to read over everything again with fresh eyes.

Oh How I wish I would do this because my Smart Phone seems to enjoy changing things I write in text messages. Knowing this, I will still send texts without proofreading them. Then I look them over and I need to send a correction to my correspondents!!

Cap and Patti

I sign off with the uncomfortable feeling there was something else I wanted to include in this Post*

Today, Sunday March the 8th, 2026, the 54th Iditarod Sled Dog Race began.

This morning, when I woke up I looked at my watch. Got up, made my bed, open the curtains, looked at my electric clock. Looked at my watch. Looked at my electric clock. My watch had updated to DST. Then I started to panic. I thought, did I miss the change to daylight saving time? How many weeks ago did that happen? I checked my calendar. Today 😊. I feel like this is the first year when I had no idea DST was going to happen. Usually somebody says something about it the week before, complaining about how it messes everything up. California voted to stop using DST years ago, but they never said which side to go with. So we continue to suffer every year.

Thank you, Patti, for proofreading Cap’s work. I agree Cap. I frequently hit send without proofreading when I should. It’s very annoying. Annoying that they change things, annoying that voice to text sometimes comes up with weird ideas, and most annoying that I can’t seem to pause one second to review the message.
