MAR 13. 26.. FRIDAY THE 13th.. SLEEP..

FRIDAY THE 13th..

It is rare, about once every ten (10) years, that you have a Friday The 13th occur on back to back months.

February 2026 and today, March 2026, each had a Friday The 13th.

The next time this will happen is in 2037!

Below is what Wikipedia has to say about Friday the 13th.

“So Captain?”

Nothing really. Just interesting to me.

Our next Friday The 13th will be this November.

There will be one in 2027 and 2028 and two in 2029 and 2030.

So Friday’s The 13th are rare!

SLEEP..

This is of interest to both Patti (because of her insomnia) and me (I have Sleep Apnea) because along with Patti, we are sleeping around 12 to 13 hours a day.

This was the very last Holiday for the March 13th NATIONAL TODAY Holidays.

Let’s begin with this:

Sleep deprivation is deadly. The body can live without food for eight to 21 days however, it can only survive for seven to 11 days without sleep.

World Sleep Day is celebrated every year on varying dates in March.

The holiday falls on the Friday before the Spring Vernal Equinox which is one week from today on Friday, March the 20th.

The day was created to emphasize the importance of sleep and address common sleep-related issues that many people suffer from.

There is a lot (as in A LOT) to read about the important topic of sleep.

This week began by losing an hour of sleep, then having a full moon eclipse, and now it’s Friday the 13th.

    What could go wrong?

I miss sleep! In my younger years, I fell asleep the minute I laid my head down. When the alarm went off, I popped out of bed. Now when I go to bed I toss and turn until I can find a comfortable position. I listen to a noise of some sort, either rain or sea or white noise. Sometimes I lay there for a while and then I get up because I can’t sleep. Sometimes I fall asleep and get up in a couple of hours, wide awake. And frequently throughout the night make it up for bathroom breaks. I miss sleeping.

I have NEVER been able to fall asleep right away! Ever. Toss and turn for hours. And always groggy in the morning. Fortunately, when I do get to sleep, I almost never have to make a trip to the bathroom.

Oh My Gullible!! On your long international trips to Africa, your sleep issues must really get challenging what with all of the time change challenges. Cap and Patti

Actually, once I’m in the camps, I can get to sleep quickly. I get up 4-AM-ish and we leave camp at 5. It’s the long travel times that get to me, and the cramped steerage seat. Very difficult. When I get home, I sleep most of three or four days.

Kathleen you and Patti could match frustrations with sleep and not being able to sleep stories. Patti also, some years ago, did not have her current issues with insomnia. Cap with Patti
