APR 8, 26.. ZOOS.. GRATITUDE..

HELLO NATIONAL TODAY…

What have we today?

Patti and I are Zoo lovers.

I want to begin  with Patti. Patti became a resident of Anchorage, Alaska, on April 25th, 1963. Patti clearly remembers when The Alaska Zoo was incorporated on March 28th, 1968, as the Alaska Children’s Zoo. It was big news at the time. The Zoo was opened in 1969. It’s name was changed to The Alaska Zoo in June 1980.

Very nice! Thank You!

National Zoo Lovers Day is celebrated on April 8th.

Many animals have been saved by zoos from going extinct! Zoos are more than conservation sites for endangered species, they also provide educational, research, and entertainment. We can trace the history of zoos back to 4000 B.C. If you love animals, then this holiday is just for you. Visit a zoo nearby to find out about your favorite animals; you can also ask to volunteer at a zoo!

One of our favorite Zoos is the Detroit Zoo.

Thank You Ginny, and Thank You Linda, for being our Guest Contributors! Ginny shared with us the  below photos that her sister Linda snapped.

It may take a moment for the photos to up load.

Again! Thank You so very much Ginny and Linda!

ALL IS OURS DAY..

When we came across the below NATIONAL TODAY Holiday, we checked it out because it looked interesting!

NATIONAL ALL IS OURS DAY..

It proved to be a great Holiday that Patti and I both enjoyed.

National All Is Ours Day celebrated on April 8.

This Holiday is a day devoted to appreciating all the things of beauty and nature around us.  From enjoying the beauty of birds in your backyard to visiting a local park. The history and origin of this day are unknown.

Stop for a minute and appreciate the beauty of our environment. It can be as simple as a roadside flower or as big as the home-grown garden that you’ve put your time and sweat into. So, whatever you appreciate on this day, remember that you should not take things in nature for granted.

Another approach to celebrating National All is Ours Day is by appreciating anything and everything. Be grateful for your friends and for what you have!

Share what you have with others!

It also has a sub-theme about about recycling to protect our environment.

San Diego is my favorite zoo! Hope all is well. We keep going back and forth with weather. Snow a few days ago, but sunny and 70f deg yesterday. I keep waiting to start my flower and veggie seeds, but must be patient. Most go directly in the ground, and I dare not do that until at least Mother’s Day.
    Stay well!
