LOVE YOUR DENTIST..

Patti and I DO love our Dental Teams.

We have one Dental Team here in Anchorage and one down in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

We see each of them once a year. So we both have at least two (2) routine dental appointments each year.

We may have additional appointments “as needed”.

National Today stated that.. As many as 95% of people may, knowingly or unknowingly, be suffering from a dental problem. 95% seems just a “tad high” but who am I to challenge the National Today Team.

The earliest mention of dentistry as a medical profession dates back to the Indus Valley Civilization from around 7000 B.C.

Only after 1530 A.D. was the inaugural book on dentistry published. The book was titled “The Little Medicinal Book for All Kinds of Diseases and Infirmities of the Teeth”.

National I Love My Dentist Day is celebrated worldwide on June 2.

This day is a symbol of appreciation for all dentists and their services.

I was shocked. I was absolutely stunned to read the following on the NATIONAL TODAY website.

Almost half of dentists say stress in their job is exceeding their ability to cope. The most stressful aspects of their work are related to regulation and fear of litigation from patients.

The rate of suicide among dentists is twice that of the common public. Not only that, but it’s also three times higher in comparison to any other white-collar job. The primary cause of dentists committing suicide is stress. Due to the high levels of stress in their work-life, they end up having a lot of cardiovascular diseases as well.
