SEP 6, 26.. READ A BOOK.. PET ROCKS..
Ah yes! My 90th Birthday is over.. I am one day into my 91st trip around the Sun.
We did not plan a party, and we did not have a party.
Patti and I just relaxed, read Birthday Cards and answered Birthday text messages, email messages and voice-mail messages.
Thanks to all of you who honored me with your Birthday Wishes.. THAT alone was a quite an undertaking!!

NATIONAL READ A BOOK DAY..

National Read a Book Day on September 6 calls all book lovers to indulge in their favorite hobby. Bringing new worlds to life, books enlighten us and transport us on exciting adventures.
National Read a Book Day encourages us to silence the noise and turn the pages for a while.

Patti.. Yes “Our Patti”, loves to curl up and read maybe three books each and every single week of the year.
You should see her “book list”. It is several letter sized pages plus a multitude of smaller scraps of paper with author names and titles paper clipped together in random “clumps”. Interesting and amusing!!
She check books off her lists as she reads them, hoping she won’t end up back home with a book she realizes she has already read, but once in awhile, that happens!! If a book sometimes seems familiar, she turns to the ending to check herself to see if it really does seem to be a re-visitor!!

National Pet Rock Day rolls around every first Sunday in September.
NATIONAL PET ROCK DAY..

Pet Rocks? Too funny!
Oh, Is It? I have more than a few Pet Rocks!
Below are just two of them. I hand painted the top Rock. A friend, that I gifted one our Spiritual Pocket Stones, hand painted the below Rock!!

Lots of Pet Rocks in Roxaboxen Park in Yuma, Arizona!

A few of our Spiritual Pocket Stones!!

Get it? Got it? Good!
So now you see why this National Today Holiday attracted Patti and me!!
Gary Dahl (1936-2015) was an American advertising executive who created the Pet Rock in 1975. Inspired by a conversation with friends about pets, he conceived the idea of a ‘perfect pet’ that required no care. His ingenious marketing and packaging turned a simple stone into a multimillion-dollar novelty sensation, cementing his place in pop culture history.
