THIS IS THE JOY OF INDIA ..

TODAY IT IS OCTOBER 7th, 2011 ..

I HAVE NOW BEEN COMING TO INDIA TWENTY-ONE (21) YEARS AS OF OCTOBER 30th ..

AND THIS MORNING I ACTUALLY FOUND A REAL.. HONEST TO GOODNESS..

HARDWARE STORE.. (Patti loves them)..

I DID NOT THINK SUCH A THING EXISTED..

Oh yes I did find ‘ cup ‘ hooks the other day at a tiny little shop deep in the Muslim Section on Alimuddin Road.. but today I HIT THE JACKPOT.. the little cup-hook man no doubt gets HIS cup hooks from this place ..

TELL ME THIS IS NOT THE JACK POT !!  I DARE YOU.. I DEFY YOU TO TELL ME THIS IS NOT THE JACK POT..

I got some larger ‘ cup hooks ‘  .. I brought five of my own ‘small’ ones.. and having found the ‘mother’ source.. got some larger ones..

I got a larger diameter twist drill (probably a number 40) so I can drill larger holes.. to properly seat the larger ‘ cup hooks ‘ ..

I got three different diameters of wood screws in three different lengths (ten each) .. number sixes and number eights ..

GOOD GOD OH GOD OF ABRAHAM !!  ..  I GOT A HACK SAW BLADE I CAN HOLD WITH MY LEATHER GLOVES TO DO SOME SAWING..

I got some heavy diameter flexible wire stock (probably 3/32 inch diameter) so I can make some new Bobbsey ‘ S ‘ Hooks for Hangars..

GOOD GOD OF ABRAHAM .. I GOT TWO FULL SIZED SHEETS OF TWO DIFFERENT GRITS OF SANDPAPER.. 100 and 120 ..

It took Bobba and the Bobbsey’s twenty one (21) years to hit this jackpot..

AND YOU WONDER WHY I LOVE INDIA..

THERE YOU HAVE IT KIDS..  THE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC  JOY IN THE MOST SIMPLE OF THINGS.. finding  a real hardware store ..

(what’s that ‘Zilla .. YES I COULDDA.. YES ‘ZILLA.. YES INDEED.. I SHOULDDA BROUGHT ALL THIS STUFF WITH ME WHEN I CAME.. well I did NOT..)

(what ‘Zilla.. well the cup hooks I screw into the walls and into the ceilings .. then from the cup hooks I suspend all sorts of things.. they hold hangars with wet clothing so they will drip dry and air dry.. they hold the fifteen or so nylon bags that hold many of the BOBBSEYS.. some BIG ones actually suspend MISTER INDIA BAG IN HIS CLOSET.. the hack saw blade will cut all sorts of things (I shouldda brought my mini-Xacto saw ‘Zilla but I did NOT) .. I need the screws to modify several things (starting with my back-washing-brush).. I used to make the ‘S’ hooks and all of that ARMADA OF BOBBSEYS  (I need to photograph them for you all) out of wire coat hangars.. but all they have now are plastic coat hangars..so with this 3/32 inch diameter wire stock I can add to that ARSENAL of BOBBSEYS..)
