MAY 4, 21 .. BACK HOME IN ANCHORAGE, ALASKA

Well, The Truth Being Told, we were Back Home In Anchorage Alaska, yesterday (Monday the 3rd of May 2021) an hour or so before midnight.

We were both a tad past being exhausted. Two flights, into and out of three airports (Las Vegas, Seattle, Anchorage) with all that entails is exhausting. A mere bottle of water in Seattle cost five (5) U.S. Dollars. I would NOT pay them going to a drinking fountain instead.

Today, Tuesday the 4th of May, I walked over (a nice 40 minute walk) to where our Chevrolet Suburban stays when we are out of Alaska. He would not start. LONG-Story-Short, I called Patti who called our road service insurance firm and, after about three hours (in Patti’s words she was on the verge of tears with the frustration of getting a tow arranged), he was aboard a tow truck and off to our local shop. 

My last words to Detroit Tiger Tom as we entered the Las Vegas, Nevada, airport yesterday afternoon were : “Tom. One of these trips will be my last ever in this lifetime. Will this be that final trip?” Only The Shadow and God and Father Time will know the answer. This instant I am just about totally spent. I did not need to have another towing of our vehicle to deal with.

Still Smiling, any problems, any issues I am having, are minor and insignificant when compared with more than one other friend who are literally, facing life ending challenges.

    If you’re with the same, well-known, nationwide road assistance company I’m thinking of, I share your pain. Their call center certainly isn’t in Alaska and the people who answer your calls are oblivious when it comes to our highway system. I have given up on them.

      Well Ginny .. As of midnight, Friday the 7th, we have no truck and no word from our shop about it. I am now getting some good use out of my bicycle. Smiles .. Cap
