FEB 8, 18 .. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA AND SOUTH TO LAUGHLIN, NEVADA.

IF we could have done it over, Patti and I would have planned at least a two-night stay in Las Vegas. For one thing, we were both very tired (exhausted) after our two flights yesterday. First from Anchorage to Seattle and then from Seattle to Las Vegas. Add to that, all of the drama of yesterday in general, and we were very tired by day’s end.

It was a real chore to get up and be out of our room by 11am yesterday morning.

A few things we did yesterday, Wednesday the 7th of February.

We (Patti and I, along with Detroit Tiger Tom and Ginny) visited the WELCOME TO LAS VEGAS SIGN.

We stood in the below line of visitors ..

To snap the below photo ..

We saw the Las Vegas Sphinx and a real pyramid.

The Las Vegas skyline is dominated by the Stratosphere (its answer to the Space Needle in Seattle).

Detroit Tiger Tom and I spent considerable time visiting BATTLEFIELD VEGAS. As we did so, Patti and Ginny waited very patiently for us in our truck.

In the below photo, in the background, you can see the motel at which we stayed, CIRCUS CIRCUS MANOR.

The below photos show more clearly our motel that you see in the background above.

I point this out because IF we had stayed elsewhere, we would not have looked across the street and seen BATTLEFIELD VEGAS.

Little did either of us realize just what we were about to see at this attraction.

One last time, in the background is our motel.

After viewing many items of interest, Tom decided he wanted to try his hand at shooting a real military weapon. For $45 Tom got to shoot 20 rounds of ammunition using the below M-60.

Each participant was carefully guided by an experienced former member of the armed forces.

Tom really did a great job of aiming and shooting.

Tom really enjoyed himself.

During the day we had several McDonald’s stops.

McDonald’s M & M Mc Flurrys.

How about this? A White Castle here in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Between Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada, out in the middle of nowhere (and I am serious about the nowhere part of this) is a wide-spot-in-the-road called Searchlight.

Terribles Casino even has a small bowling alley for local residents.

Another McDonald’s for us.

A ‘Grand Mac’.

We arrived in Laughlin after dark.

We checked into our hotel.

“How about a late-night snack Patti?”

An Asian Salad with special dressing.

Another full day.

Smiles from Patti and from Cap

You would think from the above three photos that I think nearly losing an eye was funny wouldn’t you? The eye looks much worst today than it did above.

I hope you’re telling people you got that black eye by taking down a punk at Battlefield Las Vegas, and not the truth. Enjoy your Southwest vacation, you two.

No. I am telling (the many) people (mostly other senior citizens) who ask me about it the truth. Many guess that I took a fall. All are seemingly interested and listen closely. It was a worrisome incident for sure. Thanks for your undying support. Cap
