JAN 24, 19 .. TRAVEL DAY .. TIME TO LEAVE MARIINSK / МАРИИНСК RUSSIAN SIBERIA
**UPDATE TO THIS POST: Not sure when Cap will get online or whether he will have internet (he has not asked about it yet, nor tried to get on) at his new location, so … wanted you to know …
Cap has arrived in Tayshet, Russian Siberia, a city of about 35,000 people. He and Mike are in a hotel within walking distance of the hotel where they are staying, another “bait and switch” on the cost of the room, but, at least they have a room. Cap slept well, VERY WELL, he said, on the all-night train trip. They got there in the early morning hours and Cap reports it is colder in Tayshet than what they had been experiencing lately. He has now gone out to scout out where he can get some bottled, drinking water.
They will be in Tayshet for 4 nights. Hopefully, you will be hearing from Cap himself fairly soon! Meanwhile, doing my best to keep his news up to date!

Thursday, January the 24th, 2019. In a few hours I’ll board a train on the Trans-Siberian Railway and head for Tayshet, a small city in the Irkutsk Oblast.
Assuming everything runs on schedule, I’ll be on the train from 6:47pm this evening arriving in Tayshet at 9am tomorrow morning an overnight trip of just over 14 hours. En route I expect we’ll have a long layover in the large city of Krasnoyarsk (perhaps one hour).
Patti will try to update this post if we are able to be-in-touch. My time of 6:47pm is Patti’s time of 2:47am (almost 3 o’clock in the morning). Patti has quite a schedule later today so I’m encouraging her to sleep and not worry about updating this post.
