MAY 26, 20 .. SUMMER 2020 .. PATTI LOVES HER FLOWERS .. PART 5

Yesterday, May 25th, was Memorial Day. We published a Post in honor of those who have died in service to our country in the United States Armed Forces.

As a result of  yesterday’s Memorial Day Post, our-time-line here on dot.net showing Patti’s Flower Planting Project is now a day-or-so-off. But who’s keeping score?

Long story short, we-are-back and rejoin Patti planting her flowers for the summer of 2020 at our condo here in Anchorage, Alaska.

We ended PART 4 with Patti purchasing additional flowers at our local Home Depot Store.

Below are the flowers Patti selected.

The Red Flowers are Geraniums. The Purple Flowers are Violas. The Small White Flowers are Verbena. As you will see further below, Patti will surround the Red Geraniums with the Verbena.

The above flowers (that have now ‘hardened’ by spending the night out-doors) are the ones you will see Patti planting below.

MAY 26, 20 .. PATTI LOVES HER FLOWERS .. PART 5

The day began with the below scene of our living room porch. Patti will be planting flowers into the two large round planters (in the center) and into the two smaller, square planters  (on the left and right).

Below are close-up photos of two of the above flower planters.

At the bottom of the below photo are some of the flowers Patti will be planting today. As we said above, the Red Flowers are Geraniums. The small White Flowers are Verbena and they are the ones that Patti will use to fill-in around the Geraniums that she will be planting in the center of two planters.

HERE WE GO LOOP DE LOOP! PATTI SPRINGS-INTO-ACTION!

Patti begins by first setting one of the Red Geraniums into the center of one planter.

The flowers, sitting in their small, plastic, growing containers, become ‘root bound’. Below Patti is removing a section of roots from the very bottom of the Geranium.

Now Patti very carefully places the Geranium into its planter.

The first of the two Geraniums is now into its planter home.

Now Patti begins the process of surrounding the Geranium with the Verbena.

Patti continuing to circle the Geranium with the Verbena.

WOW. WHAT A JOB! THE FIRST GERANIUM WITH VERBENA IS PLANTED.

Below we see Patti beginning to plant the second Geranium.

The Time Has Come for Patti to plant the Violas.

They too have become root-bound and Patti has to remove some of the roots from the bottoms of them.

Here we go! Into the planter go the Violas.

VOILA! One of the Violas is planted.

Below are two more photos of  the above Viola.

Below is our Living Room Porch with its new flowers.

WHEW! ANOTHER OF PATTI’S GREAT PLANTING PROJECTS IS COMPLETE!

Hugs from Patti and Smiles from Cap
