MAY 27, 20 .. HAPPINESS IS

Sometimes we hit a very special and upbeat and positive moment in our daily lives. The deal is for us to hold onto them and try to have them in-our-memory-bank when we hit challenging moments in our days.

Here’s what happened yesterday afternoon. I went out on a shopping run to Walmart. En route home I stopped by our local Wendy’s fast food restaurant to purchase some Frosty Chocolate Soft Ice Cream desserts. We have four key-ring-tokens that entitle us to get a free Junior Frosty with each purchase.

A Junior Frosty is 6oz in size.

I pulled into the driveup ordering line and I ordered four (4) Junior Frostys (telling the host that this entitles us to four more Junior Frostys because of our four key ring tokens). The young lady on the speaker confirmed my order : “Four Junior Frostys and Four additional Junior Frostys (complements of our key-ring-tokens) a total of eight Junior Frostys.”

When I pulled up to the window to receive our eight Junior Frostys I was handed four Small Frostys (not eight Junior Frostys I’d ordered).

A Small Frosty is 12oz in size.

I asked the young lady about the different-from-what-I-ordered order and she said, “We have run out of the Junior Frosty Cups.” ..

Made perfect sense to me. Four Small Frostys (12oz) equals eight Junior Frostys (6oz). I expected to pay for the four Junior Frostys ($3.96) that I had ordered and handed her my credit card.

Without running my credit card she handed it back to me! I said, “I owe you money for four Junior Frostys.”

She simply smiled a wide-smile and said,

“Sir. Your order is free.”

And sure enough it was. I enthusiastically thanked her and, feeling very happy, motored home with four free small Frostys.

Don’t ask me why this so tickled me! I don’t know! But it really made me feel great.

HAPPINESS IS : Four free Wendy’s Frostys.

Here is another very nice happy moment, one that lasted five hours last Sunday.

Patti and I watched..

The Match : Champions for Charity*

* 20 million dollars were raised for four major charitable organizations.

A live golf match between Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning playing against Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady.

Turner Sports’ live coverage of The Match on Sunday was the most watched golf telecast in the history of cable television! The high profiled event was the top program of Sunday across all of T.V.

Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning prevailed by one stroke over Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady.

Patti and I watched 100% of it! We loved it! We hooted and we hollered.

We really felt good-all-over.

And?

Patti-saved-the-day! I’d wanted to watch both a live zoom meeting during the first hour of The Match. Patti said we should focus 100% on The Match and she was 100% right-on-correct.

If we’d done my plan we’d have blown up the day. By being with The Match 100%, we saw it all. It included a lot more than the golf match by showing details of four of the major organizations who are dealing with Covid 19 and how the 20 million dollar day would assist them.

HAPPINESS IS : An afternoon of wonderful golfing memories.
