TO ONE AND TO ALL..

I find it odd to be sitting here in Year 2022. Whodda Thunk we would have made it this far?

Not I said the Little Red Hen !!

No, I have not forgotten that (perhaps) some of you want to know how I am doing after spending some nine hours in the local Emergency Room last Thursday Night into Friday Morning. 

I feel exactly the same as I felt when I headed to the E.R. with Patti. My lower left abdomen continues to makes its discomfort present. For this reason I am Oh So Happy that I stuck it out (100% because of Patti’s encouragement I’ll tell you) and remained in the E.R. until I saw a Doctor. Had I not seen a Doctor, had I not gotten a full diagnosis, I would really be concerned. BUT, beginning last Wednesday night when I went to bed, I WAS CONCERNED and that took me to the E.R.

I have Acute Diverticulitis, an infection or inflammation of pouches that have formed in my intestines (univited by me!!).

What am I doing?

I accept that this is a potentially serious situation and I need to heed my medical advice.

I accept that there is not an instant cure or solution. I has taken me 85 years to arrive here and that is that. Accept it and move on!

I have stopped eating nuts and popcorn (I think and I plan) for the rest of my life.

I am taking two anti-biotic medications. Each have a seven (7) day prescribed duration. One is twice a day at 12 hour intervals. The other is three times a day (no time intervals specified). I was given a third medication to alleviate any discomfort that is only to be used ‘as needed’. I have opted NOT to take (at least for now) this optional third medication. I will deal with the discomfort (that YES indeed!) I am feeling.

I hope, and I plan, to see a Doctor this upcoming week for a follow up appointment to discuss this issue. I WILL plan to see a G.I. Doctor at the Mayo Clinic during our upcoming visit in early February.
