APR 26, 13 .. A LITTLE OF THIS .. AND A LITTLE OF THAT .. FROM OOTY ..

Was it ‘just-yesterday’ that I showed you some photos of the fountain at Charing Cross Junction?  Was it ‘just-last-Tuesday’ that I showed you several photos taken from my room here in Ooty? On the right side of the below photo taken from my room last Tuesday can you find a ‘small-green-square’?

ROOMBelow is a little closer look at the ‘small-green-square’ I mentioned above. With the sun-on-it you can really see it clearly.

CHARINGCROSS 004And below is an EVEN LARGER view of the ‘small-green-square’ that I have been asking you about above. Now it is much-larger and it is now at the top right of the below photo. I have to hand-it-to my little Nikon Coolpix L28 that I purchased in Pondicherry when my Plum Colored Nikon Coolpix S4300 temporarily mal-functioned!  My L28’s telephoto abilities are quite satisfactory.

CHARINGCROSS 005Yesterday I was debating the proper spelling of the fountain at Charing Cross Junction.  The below road sign solved my question.  It’s Charing with one ‘L’.

CHARINGCROSS 003NOW when I look out my room window to my right .. I know what I am seeing!  The Charing Cross Junction.  I just like-to-know ‘my-turf’!

SECURITY of my belongings .. money and trip tickets and my passport and extra credit cards and ATM cards that I do not carry with me (because if I were to lose the ones I do carry with me .. I have my reserve cards in my room)  to name some of the BIGGIES .. IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO ME.

Now ‘the cynic’ will say .. “Cap Cap Cap!  A professional could have your things in the ‘twinkling-of-an-eye’.”  And he would be correct.  BUT I AM NOT worried about the professional.  I am worried about the ‘honest-people’ such as hotel employees.  OF COURSE I ALWAYS tell the hotel that I DO NOT WANT ANY ROOMS SERVICE because I do NOT want anyone in my rooms.

So I have a ‘hard-shell-briefcase’ as my ‘secure-storage-safe’.  In the below photos you can see how I have installed two ‘machine-screw-eyes’ into the briefcase and how I then can padlock my briefcase to plumbing fixtures or window gratings or to other secure fixtures.

BRIEFCASE 004When on buses and trains I use the above ‘system’ to secure my vital belongings.  Below .. here in Ooty .. I have fastened my briefcase to the shower fittings.

BRIEFCASE 001Sure the professional with professional bolt-cutters would have my brief case presto-quicko!  But in 22+ years of India travel my system has protected me 100% from the ‘honest-people’ who may happen into my rooms.  Again .. on trains and on buses while en-route someplace .. this system really has served-me-well!

I AM really-loving my Sapphire Paradise Hotel here in Ooty.  Look what I found just today up-on-the-roof that I have at my disposal.

Two-count-them hours and my shirt was bone-dry!  So too was my sun-cap.
