MAY 30, 22 .. MEMORIAL DAY 2022 .. WE HONOR THOSE VETERANS WHO HAVE DIED IN SERVICE

Here in the United States, we have three holidays that honor our military veterans.

Armed Forces Day (the third Saturday in May). Memorial Day (the last Monday in May). Veterans Day (November 11th).

Rather than posting a synopsis (a summary) of what is available online, below is a link to Wikipedia (who else) about Memorial Day that you may review by clicking onto the below link.

Armed Forces Day is the day we honor all of the men and women currently serving, as well as those who have served and sacrificed to defend our freedom.

Memorial Day mourns the U.S. military personnel who have died while serving in the United States armed forces.

Veterans Day recognizes all who have served in the Armed Forces.

Both Patti and I come from families who have served in the United States Military.

Patti’s father (U.S. Navy), her oldest brother (U.S Navy) and her nephew (U.S. Army who is currently serving on active duty) all served.

My Father (U.S. Coast Guard), myself (U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Navy Seabees), my eldest son (U.S. Army) and my youngest son (U.S. Air Force) all served.

I have oft said, that of all the decisions that I have made in this lifetime, the best and most important decision was to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps.

To Those Who Died Serving Our Country, We Solemnly Salute You !

God Bless all of the men and women who have given their lives, the ultimate patriotic sacrifice so that ALL Americans can live in our precious democracy. And to my dear friend and handsome and proud Marine, Semper Fi! Thank you for your ‘always faithful’, dedication, love and service!
I hope you both are still on the mend. I’m always praying for your good health of mind, body and spirits.
    Love ya both to pieces!
    Michael
PS…. Congratulations to both The Golden State Warriors and The Boston Celtics! My dream has come through for these two teams to reach the championship games. Now I’m rootin’ for GS but will be happy with whichever team is victorious! lol

Thank YOU Michael for YOUR Military Service !! Thank YOU Michael for YOUR (yet another) amazing and touching comment. The seven game series between the Celtics and the Heat was something !! Nice to watch the upcomining Championship Series with a kind of neutral attitude, may the best team win (AND it is too bad someone has to lose). Cap and Patti

    Congratulations!
I have never thought of these holidays like that…. You, Cap, and your friend Michael d. have made me change my idea of military holidays. Moreover, now I know the difference between these three holidays (We studied them when I was an undergraduate but I didn’t pay attention to THE DIFFERENCE). Thank you, Cap. Thank you, Michael d.

Olga, where ever we went during our visit in your country, be it large metropolitan areas or small villages, with no exceptions, there were always deeply touching memorials to those who served your fatherland. MANY, not few Olga but MANY, of your countrymen paid homage and were deeply respectful with regard to my military service for my fatherland. Cap and Patti who saw many of them with me.

Yes, Cap, everything about the OLD MEMORIES is true and honouring those from the past is good and natural, and we owe them all a large debt of gratitude.
