This afternoon, one of our very close friends, a man our ages that we really respect, said to me, “Cap I’ve got a cold and am laying low for a day or so.”
I said, “Please, PLEASE get tested for covid. Your life and those around you may depend on you getting tested.”
He said, “I talked to my nurse and she asked if I’d lost my sense of taste and smell. When I said no, she said you haven’t got covid.”
I repeated myself and said to him with some passion, “Covid has many symptoms. Losing one’s sense of taste and smell is only one symptom out of many. Please, PLEASE get tested for covid. Your life and those around you may depend on you getting tested.”
He said, “O.K. I will.”
And?
This is one very bright and very savvy man. He got tested.
And?
COVID POSITIVE.
He thanked us profusely.

Amazing Andrej. Absolutely, positively amazing that a medical professional would say something like that : “Did you lose your sense of taste or smell?” .. “No.” .. “You don’t have covid.”
