OCT 10, 22 .. FUN ? TOO, TOO, TOO MUCH FUN .. READ ON ..

Yesterday we published the below photo and caption thereto ..

Do you want nifty? I had to figure the below photo out! Voila! The below photo shows a very nifty and fancy road sign showing which direction to go in order to get to some of the neighboring and some far away towns from Montague Village, Massachusetts! New Salem and Boston and Amherst and Hadley.

Focus on the town Hadley, 3rd down on the right side of the above road sign.

Voila! Pete is one of our best friends. Pete, we discovered in a text message just yesterday, is visiting Western Massachusetts! We asked Pete IF he knew where Montague Village is? In answer to our question Pete instantly sent the below photo !!

And we wonder IF anyone is interested in what we post! Well, Eva for one will get a hoot out of this!

So when the below second ‘gift’ arrived from Linda and Eva, we jumped on it truly realizing that yes indeed, several of our readers REALLY DO READ AND CARE ABOUT AND ARE INTERESTED in our website.

In yesterday’s post, OCT 9, 22, we wrote the following about the below photo  ..

We are not exactly postitive what the below photo is. It would seem to be a building of some historical interest.

Linda down in Florida commented :

The unidentified building is the Eliot Beardsley Homestead that is located at 31 Great Ring Road in Monroe, Connecticut. It is a colonial saltbox house, built around 1760.

Then Linda followed up with a second comment (not repeated in its entirety) :

Monroe Historical Society
The Eliot Beardslee (Beardsley) Homestead c.1780

The Eliot Beardslee Homestead at 31 Great Ring Road in Monroe, Connecticut, was built c. 1780 and is a classic example of an 18th century New England saltbox colonial.

So when we saw Linda’s comment, Patti and I immediately (and I mean on-the-spot) called Linda up on the phone. We told Linda that Eva, our upstairs neighbor, the one who took the photo, was physically in and visiting Montague Village, Massachussets, and was NOT in Monroe, Connecticut, approximately 120 miles and a good 2-plus hours to the East.

Linda asked us if we would please call Eva (which we did) and ask Eva IF indeed Eva snapped the above photo in Montague Village, Massachussets, or had Eva made a day-trip East to Monroe, CT where she snapped it.

So we then immediately called Eva (now in Albany, NY) back and asked Eva where she was when she snapped the above (now becoming famous!) photo!

Eva assurred Patti and I that .. “Yes indeed! She had snapped it IN Montague Village, Massachussets!”

We called Linda back and Linda confessed that .. “No, she had not visited Monroe, CT, herself and did not personally know the building.” What Linda had done was to use Google Image (I am not aware of that Google tool!) to get her information!

We all had a good laugh.

And now (God Bless, and Be With You, Mister Paul Harvey!) ..

THE REST OF THE STORY

Linda then followed up with her 3rd comment to the OCT 9, 22 Post :

OK…I was way off. :-( Here’s a link to the correct building:

And NOW WE KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY !!

Too, Too, Too Much fun Linda and Eva and you too Pete! Thanks so very much for your support.
