JAN 27, 23 .. NOW A PROMISE MADE IS A DEBT UNPAID

NOW A PROMISE MADE IS A DEBT UNPAID .. Robert W. Service from the Cremation of Sam McGee

Yesterday, I solemnly promised Gord, our Ally back in Michigan, that I’m going to return to writing posts the night before their date of publication because Gord likes to arise in the morning and read our posts. The past few days I wrote posts during the day they were published. If I publish a post at noon our time (it’s 2pm Gords time), or even worse at 6pm (8pm for Gord) or 9pm (11pm for Gord), Gord misses reading them in the morning because in his morning they haven’t existed yet.

Gord what’s happened is I’ve gotten overwhelmed with activity here and simply have been unable to keep up the pace.

Below is a photo of a pencil.

Actually it is not a pencil, it’s a Draftsman’s Lead Holder.  It is made in Germany by Staedtler, and it is a Mars Technico Minehalter Lead Holder used by draftsmen and engineers world wide.

This lead holder is very unusual because he has a mind and a life all his own. You can’t see them, but he has tiny little legs and they assist him to run off and hide from me. Day after day, I get frustrated as I spend far FAR too much time trying to find him.

What to Do?

That my friends is a no-brainer !

Call in Amazon !

Hi Captain ! You called ! I am Your Amazon Ally ! I am right here with you ! What is it I can do for you Captain ? Oh Captain ! Such a simple issue for me ! Look for them day after tomorrow Captain !

Amazing Amazon !

Today’s Rhetorical Question : Do you think that it is possible for all six of them to hide from me at the same time?

First, I MUST get the five of them out of their box so the box doesn’t hide them away somewhere.

Let’s go for a short visit to the city of Muscat, located in The Sultanate of Oman, over in the Arab World.

My humble abode in Muscat.

” Pinch Me ! I must be dreaming all that I have seen and done ! “

Cap and Patti ..

Have a great day Gord ! Thanks for the photo of your digs.

Well, now you’re in trouble. Those lead holders are going to gang up on you and have ever so much fun. Can you say, “Olly, olly, oxen free”?

The good thing, however, you need find only one of them.

Your comment “made our day” Gullible. Thanks for being the VERY GOOD SPORT that you are. What is Olly, olly, oxen free ??

So I Googled the phrase ..

“Olly olly oxen free” is a catchphrase or truce term used in children’s games such as hide and seek, capture the flag, and kick the can to indicate that players who are hiding can come out into the open without losing the game; that the position of the sides in a game has changed (as in which side is on the field or which side is at bat or “up” in baseball or kickball); or, alternatively, that the game is entirely over.

The origin of the phrase is unknown. The Dictionary of American Regional English says the phrase may be derived from all ye, all ye outs in free, all the outs in free, or possibly ”calling all the outs in free”; in other words, all who are out may come in without penalty.
