MAY 20, 23 .. CHANGE IN PLANS
In yesterday’s Post I wrote..
As I write these words late Thursday Evening the 18th of May, Patti and I are planning to take a very quick trip North from Anchorage to Manley Hot Springs where our cabin is located. We hope to drive to Fairbanks on Saturday and overnight there. Then out to Manley on Sunday and maybe back to Fairbanks on Sunday. This would be one tall order to accomplish so we may not manage to do it. I simply may not have the stamina to do a round trip of around 320 miles after driving to Fairbanks tomorrow Saturday, a trip of about 375 miles. But IF we accomplish the round trip on Sunday, we would head South back to Anchorage on Monday the 22nd.
The alternate plan would be to overnight in Manley Sunday night. Then return to Fairbanks on Monday and back to Anchorage on Tuesday the 23rd. All in all this would be far the better option.

From the above two paragraphs come these words..
This would be one tall order to accomplish so we may not manage to do it.
Sanity returned and we came to our senses!
For far more than one or two reasons .. We are NOT making the trip!

I care! That is a lot of driving in a few days’ time. We are not as young or energetic as we used to be (although you are far more energetic than me) so I think it was a good idea not to go. I love your Mother’s Day breakfast (looks delicious) and agree it’s best not to enter a restaurant on Mother’s Day. Having waitressed my way through college, I feel for all the restaurant employees on Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day. Hugs to both of you.
