Saturday, July the 22nd, 2023

Because of all of YOUR help and assistance by sending us numerous photographs and story-lines, we have not been talking much about ourselves.

Bottom Line : We have basically had an almost record-setting summer of rainy and cool days this summer.

Oh No! We Are Not Complaining!

Our friends down in Southern Nevada and Arizona are experiencing severe and record-setting heat.  100 out of 100 choices, we will happily accept cool, rainy, gray skies and dark overcast days.

But today, Saturday, July the 22nd, “dawned” sunny and bright.

We did a 12 noon meeting and happily celebrated the 25th Anniversary of two of our close Friends of Bill.

Then I said, “Oh My Patti! Let’s take a short road trip down to Girdwood this afternoon.”

So at 2:30pm, out and off we two motored to Girdwood, a small town in the Southern Municipality of Anchorage about 40 miles South of Metropolitan Anchorage itself. Patti lived in Girdwood for 15 1/2 years from the beginning of 1965 – to mid 1980. Patti loved it. Her niece and husband now live in Girdwood.

First we visited her niece and husband and then just enjoyed the ambiance of Girdwood.

Then we spent time visiting The Hotel Alyeska, one of our favorite places in Girdwood. We just sit in various places and “people watch” as busload after busload of tourists arrive and check-in. We often visit with them. Many are very gracious, elder senior citizens on their “once in a lifetime trip to Alaska”.

Into the Main Lobby we go.

Then we two “drove around” town and ended up at Chair 5, one of our very favorite restaurants in Girdwood.

Our June 15th Chicken Sandwich.

Today’s July 22nd Chicken Sandwich.

Back North to Anchorage we motored. Luxuriated (enjoy oneself in a luxurious way; take self-indulgent delight) in Our Day and now, well past 12 0’clock midnight ‘Tis Time to go to bed.

A day doesn’t get too much better than this one.
